PS I also cook "pot in pot" more often than not. This keeps all the splatter contained, and I rarely have to clean the valves and such on the pot's lid. |

Here's a recipe for hard-boiled eggs that works flawlessly for me every time. You don't even need to put them in a cold-water bath after cooking! I usually make seven at a time, but you can make more (or less) if you prefer.
I'd be interested in your results with the Instant Pot versus the Power Cooker you had before. EASY INSTANT POT HARD-BOILED EGGS large eggs trivet (or steamer basket) 1 cup water

I've never had a failure with that recipe, and I make hard-boiled eggs weekly. I use a metal trivet like the one that comes with the Instant Pot. The 15-minute natural pressure release is very important. It gives the eggs extra time to cook in the closed pot. If you open it too soon, the eggs will be runny. |

I use the 6-6-6 method but I don't have eggs right now. The ice bath is important factor in peeling eggs.

Agreed. It's the 15 (or more) minute NPR (natural pressure release) resting period that does it.
But I suppose if your technique works for you, that's okay by me! |

I think it depends on the eggs. Some eggs won't peel or cook right no matter what I have found out.

I got a 6 qt Duo Plus during Prime Day. I'm happy to say I'm using it as much as I hoped I would. Cooking meat without defrosting first and cooking beans without an overnight soak are wonderful for me, since I always forget to thaw and soak. I've lost track of what all I've tried so far, but my first meal in it was beef tips and rice, and tonight was curry. I also steamed a Christmas pudding (yes, in July) using the slow cooker function.
I am not a fan of prep, and that tends to be the thing most likely to prevent me from cooking for myself. I've come across enough one-pot meal recipes/suggestions where I can use frozen veggies and stuff that it's helping me with my goal of eating better. I have a Pinterest board to collect the IP recipes I want to try. |

The Facebook board warns that your silicone sealing ring may retain that curry smell. You may wish to buy a second ring for future puddings, etc, as sweet or bland items may take on the curry smell.
![]() I like mine too. Cooked a lunch this morning, while walking the dog and feeding them. Brought it to work with me. Yum! |

They came out very well, but next time, we'll finish in the broiler till they are crispy, THEN toss with sauce. The order we did it, the sauce would have burned before they got nicely crisp (the BBQ ones, at least. The Buffalo ones probably would have been fine either way.) |

Storing the Instant Pot lid upside down may help somewhat. Also, if you live in a sunny clime, hanging it out in the sun for a day can work wonders! |

Thanks for the warning about the curry smell and the ring! I'll stock up on spare rings now.
I store mine with the lid upright in the side handle, since it lives on my stovetop. Hopefully that will help as well. |
