I think I got similar error some time ago - on version 1.7.0 of the plugin. Installed 32-bit Calibre instead of 64-bit and it worked.

I can confirm that - all other things being equal - conversion works when I use Calibre portable instead of Calibre 64 bit.
Thanks, Manrico. |

I made a change in the next version of the plugin to use a different API call than the one that is failing. That may correct the problem, but I cannot be certain. I have not been able to duplicate this problem on my system running Windows 10.

I did some quick testing with the latest Previewer version (3.10.1) and it appears to work.
It does produce a warning during conversion, but this can be ignored: "WARNING: Import YJ_symbols symbol table max_id 696 exceeds highest known ID of 695" I will do some more thorough testing and update the plugin if needed. |

I have been doing testing with Previewer version 3.10.1 and I found a hidden feature that converts fixed layout comics and manga. It isn't exposed via the user interface of the Previewer, but I should be able to make it work through this plugin.

By the way, don't you have a Github repository for this plugin?

Version 1.8.0 - 12 May 2017
Allow conversion of fixed layout comics and manga using Kindle Previewer version 3.10.1 or higher using the command line interface. See "Converting Comics and Manga" in the first post of this thread for more information. Allow conversion of KPF files produced by the Amazon Kindle Create software using the command line interface. Allow conversion of unzipped EPUBs in the command line interface by using an OPF as the input file. Allow conversion of page numbers contained in an EPUB-3 NAV page-list within the source EPUB. Include Previewer conversion logs in the calibre conversion job log even when conversion is successful. Attempt to correct failures for some users when running 64-bit calibre under Windows Vista. Internal changes to better match the Amazon Ion specifications. (KFX is based on Ion.) (Note: There are a large number of changes in this release so there may be bugs. Also, as usual it has only been tested under 64-bit Windows 10.) |

Great job.
It look like Panel View code created by KCC is not compatible in current form. It is strange considering it follow the standards. In notes you state "Panel view does not function.". Could you elaborate? No matter what Panel View code you used Virtual Panel View was overriding it? EDIT: It definitely look like reader don't detect that book provide Panel View data and fallback to Virtual Panel View. It this was KF8 file I would say that RegionMagnification metadata field is not set properly but in this case we can only guess. It is possible that KFXGenApp simply don't support it completely yet. I took a look at a few comics that I have on my Amazon account and in all cases the ones that include publisher panels are delivered in KF8 format, not KFX. (The same comics are instead delivered in KFX on Kindle for Android.) Perhaps publisher panels isn't currently implemented in the KFX renderer in e-ink Kindles. I am a novice when it comes to comics/manga so I may have missed something. One more thing: Each KFX file contains a list of "content features" that it relies on, such as publisher-panels. Amazon's servers check the capabilities of the device/firmware requesting download of a book and only delivers KFX if that device/firmware supports all of the features used by the book. Otherwise it falls back to KF8 or MOBI format. It is fairly easy to extract the list of features from a KFX file, but I do not know of any way to determine what features any particular KFX renderer implementation supports. Amazon must have a table in their servers, but doesn't expose that information. Last edited by jhowell; 05-12-2017 at 01:11 PM. |

Well if Android version work correctly then I agree - output is formatted correctly.
Only newest releases are delivered in KFX format and even then I not seen any that use real Panel View. We will see what the future will bring. For now I need find Panel View structure that work both for KindleGen and KFXGenApp. |

Paperwhite 3 on a German Win7/calibre 2.83, kindle previewer 3.9.0.
Converting the Frankenstein-book is now successful with 64bit calibre as well. Thanks a lot. |
