Just ordered Kindle Voyage 2014 - Page 14

Does anyone know when/why Amazon stopped allowing reward points (earned with their credit card) to be used on pre-orders? I always used this method with previous Kindle pre-orders.

I never use the reward points redemption option. I get a statement credit instead. That way I get the full 3% back whenever I buy something at Amazon.

Bummer...I ordered mine on 9/18 and the delivery date of 10/29 hasn't budged.

Oh, I had not followed this thread. I had ordered one for me the day it became available for preorder, then one as a present a few days later. That last one was supposed to be delivered in November, and now they are both scheduled for 10/21.

Mhhh, that is strange. Maybe Amazon calculated low on how the supply would be able to be fulfilled by the factory? Better have a late date at first and it gets better than the other way around.

Has anyone ever ordered via a local electronics store, what are the upside and downside to ordering via a local electronics store rather than directly from amazon?

Maybe there were some cancellations too as people got past the impulse buy.

The advantage of ordering direct from Amazon is you get 30 days to decide if you want to keep it as they have a 30 day no quibble returns policy. I don't think it's the same as third party sellers.

At last a Kindle with page turn buttons/sensors

I almost bought every new generation since the K3 which I think is a bit large, but the lack of page turn buttons was the deal breaker every time.

I'm in heaven

Now I just have to wait for delivery, Nov 6 to my sister in the UK who will forward it to Sweden.

The only reason that I have been thinking of sing a third party re-seller is the last time I ordered from amazon is the last time I did, amazon told me that I needed to be there when the package arrived to sign for it. If I use a local electronic store I do not need to be there, the electronics store will hold it for me.

Last week I cancelled my first order then reordered the same exact thing to get the mid-December shipping date. Having a new Kindle arrive months before I can get my hands on it would be too frustrating! Unfortunately it's now back to November. Sigh....
