I don't *mind* spanking if it's in a book I am otherwise enjoying. Except for the pony tail butt plugs, which are (to me) inappropriately hilarious.

I see. Well, if you want to know how it ends (and hear one of the most infamous movie quote of all time), here's a link to the last scene GWTW ending (spoiler)

I love the book P&P, but I also love the mini-series with Colin Firth, Jennifer Ehle, etc.

I enjoy watching most Austin adaptations moreso than rereading her other books. P&P and Northanger Abbey are the only two I've reread as an adult. And I never did read Emma or Mansfield Park all the way through. But I own multiple productions of all 6 of her novels as mini-series and/or movies. If it helps, all of her books have an HEA for the main protagonists.

I don't understand why you are having such a hard time with this? There was nothing in my words that were spoilers. Did I give away the ending? No. Do I give away the plot? No. Did I give away what happens in the scene? No. What I mention is called a teaser. It should get you curious and intrigue and want to read it as it gave nothing away. A spoiler gives away something important in a book like Who Ghost is or What happens to Harry Potter in the final showdown scene of the last book.

I have read books like that where I didn't think of the main couples deserved a happy ending. Christian Grey comes to mind. Sean from StormFire was another and just to be gender fair, Suzanne from Hot Finished and Jet from Rock Chick Rescue.

That does help! Now I know it's safe to pick one up next time I am in a classic mood. I haven't seen the Colin Firth version. I have watch the one with Keira Knightley. It was great!

I've seen that famous scene before but I didn't know it was the actually end. Well it looks pretty on my shelf if nothing else.

Let me know how historical it is if you read it. The writing style looked really nice and what little dialogue I read seem to be within the time period. I do think they are couponable at Kobo just for future info in case you want to read the teaser. Overdrive is another place to look where you can read it for free if your library has it.

I'm on the last part of Book two of the Psy-Changling series. I do believe I will get Book three with that credit I got for returning the first book of the Crossfire series.
Those who belong to Audible it is soooo easy to return a book you don't like. I bought it last July and with a few clicks I had my credit back instantaneous. I love that they give us a year to return a Audible and it's all automated.

They are. You have to buy them before you get the full book. They are not free they are 99 cents each.

*This is a New Adult Romance and contains MA 17+ Content.
I so want to read this. Country music star books are a must have for me. I read them all. I just requested it in the Loan Me thread at Amazon's forum. If you like this type of trope I highly recommend The Cowboy Plan by Denise Belinda McDonald. I love that book! It's published by Samhain so it's couponable at Kobo.
Another good one would be Sing Me Home by Jerri Corgiat. I love the book so much I bought the series and read all but the last one. Sing Me Home was a freebie last year and I haven't loan my copy out if anyone is interested and missed it.

I've got a zillion books on my Sony and 30 or so in my print TBR pile and there is NOTHING I am in the mood to read at the moment.

I need a new Psy/Changeling book

Think I need to either reread an old favorite or watch TV until I come down from my series glom.

All I did was list the couples' names and those were all available in the blurbs and you called them a spoiler. I don't see that any different from hinting at a scene that I would now be watching for and not get the enjoyment of the surprise.

To me, those *are* minor points. I really think the tampon thing is minor...but I do also think that of listing the couple's names. I was careful not to mention the names of the couple in the Heart of Obsidian book since 1) it's still new and 2) it's not obvious from any of the blurbs.

That's why I brought it up. I see no difference between what I did and what you did. And yet I'm told to use spoiler tags.

You got me confused with someone else. I said I didn't find couple's names and things found on the back of the books spoilers.
I supported your view on the matter. I think that may be a little extreme. I mean who doesn't read a blurb before they buy a book?

I can understand why some people feel the way they do about it but they are not spoilers.

I read Sing Me Home several years ago and I remember really liking it, but then the rest of the series got buried in my huge wish list. Maybe it's time to bump it back up. Even though I don't actually like country music, I like books featuring that scene. I've already gotten the sample of Girl With Guitar. If the sample appeals to me at all, I'm sure I'll be 1 clicking on it also.

The English Heiress by Patricia Rice
(Regency Nobles series)
Sequel to The Marquess
Kobo Link

Quote:

An Irish rogue and a duke’s daughter should have nothing in common except trouble...

Though enchanted by the selfless beauty of a duke’s granddaughter, Michael—a man of many names but none his own—has wisely kept his distance. But two years after the disastrous fire that brought Lady Blanche Perceval into his life, he is saddled with a lost, lying Irish waif and needs a woman’s understanding aid. To his dismay, the generous lady he remembers now despises him for deserting her when she needed him most.

Blanche has inherited all the wealth and responsibility of a dukedom, even if it is her cousin who wears the title. Forced to rely on her men of business to help her make decisions since she has no experience or knowledge of her own, she is at constant odds with the new duke who wishes to marry her for the sake of the estate.

When the irresistible and unreliable Michael O’Toole materializes in her life to enlist her care for another of the abandoned orphans he’s rescued—as he once did for her—Blanche doesn’t know whether to kill him or kiss him. After terrorists blow up her carriage, it becomes apparent that running away might be the best choice of all—but can they survive the pitfalls of their impossible attraction?

“Finally, Michael O’Toole! I’ve been waiting for his story ever since I read Patricia Rice’s The Marquess years ago. Michael and his delicious duke’s granddaughter demonstrate why bad boys are best!”
Mary Jo Putney

Where's a Kobo coupon when I need one? I've waited forever for this price drop. I hope it's stays that way till I can get a good coupon.
