I'm still sorting out the problem with my order. It should be sorted in a week. if not, I'm not going to take no for an answer. In other words, I'm going to talk to someone higher up and get it sorted for sure.

I imagine if worse comes to worse and they run out of 500's to fulfill the special offer orders, we can make a row of it and get a manager to approve filling the order with a 505.

I just want my order fulfilled hassle-free, but I almost wish that happens,

Amen to that sentiment. It's finally starting to dawn on me that I probably won't be seeing a reader, either 500 or 505 before the end of year.
I'm hoping we're all just caught up in an overly popular program and inventory will catch up sooner rather than later.

Well, I hope to get a reader on proper order soon. If I do not get to place an order, I am going to call and ask for a manager. October 31st is when I will do this. I've placed two orders that have both failed.

Just got off the phone and here's what I was told after they first verified that my account was eligible for the offer:

An email would be going out to all outstanding people eligible for the special offer on how to order the Reader in the next couple of days and that it would be for a model 500 not the 505 and the price would be 48/49 plus 10 shipping.

I guess like Wolf I'll give their email until 31st to show up then I'll start raising a little

Just got of the phone with them. The guy named Jack I believe verified that I am eligible and confirmed that an e-mail for eligible members will be issued "soon", although he is not allowed to commit on the time frame. At least the last 3 people that called got the same answer, this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Anyway, count me in for the Oct31th party.

But, the problem is that they place the 500 on the site and we go and order it and the order then gets screwed up. This is not fair at all. It isn't our fault they say it is in stock when it's not.

I would assume it'll go something like this:

-Sony rewards is notified that there are 100 Readers in warehouse for credit card offer.
-Email goes out to first 100 people sorted by credit card activation date, inside email is special link for our offer.
-If you fail to order within x days, someone else gets your Reader and you go back on the list.

Then again they could just have a monkey throwing darts at our contact info

I had a humorous idea... Right when sony rewards opens on the 31st, the first person to call in should post the name and information on the person who they talk to. The rest of us should ask to talk to them. This could generate one person inside the help center that "feels our pain" and wants to get the problem resolved... because they are sick of getting calls about it.
