ddriver, I'm assuming you aren't in the UK - 'cos if you're not, "you aint seen nothing yet" until you are unfortunate enough to try the UK website - or perhaps it's the same all over the world, which makes it even worse !

I'm in Switzerland and since the end of 2010, there's no PRs-650 available anywhere.....

The problem is that I'm gojng away (very far away) in 2 months and I won't have anymore chance to get one of the PRS-650 when I'll be there...

In which country/shop did you find them "in stock" ? ...and do you knnow if they sale in foreing countries ?

In my original post, I should have said Sony Style-US. But...just checked again and both the red and black are now showing as out of stock.

Don't know how many of these they are manufacturing, but it certainly seems that they can't keep up with the demand.

I tried to order a 650 since january, but here they were sold out too (I live in Holland) 3 weeks ago they were available from sony.nl, but I was too late: the salesperson told me that all 200 were sold out in less than 2 hours....
Fortunately they called me last week the device was back in stock, so I bought one right away. And now I see that some dutch sites like Dixons.nl and the local bol.com do have them in stock!

bought one for £200 in UK from amazon market place 2 - 3 weeks ago, I now see it elsewhere in UK online stores at £180 - so I guess O/s issues are being resolved

Poppaea, will you please tell me how this works? I started to sign up but hesitated because my experience has been that the the vendor goes by the billing address on your credit card not the shipping address.

Sorry, I can't tell you HOW it works, but it does. It is a forwarding service and my guess is that the credit card works in conjunction with the billing address. By this I mean it is possible that the system recognizes the billing address as a borderlinx address. It has worked for me so far for the Sony ebook shop and for Amanzon Kindle shop and thus I worked around georestrictions.

It must work because Borderlinx will charge you for their service!

Alright as of right now (11:42 AM PDT) the black Sony 650s are available from the US Sony Style website (www.sonystyle.com). If you want one, I suggest you order it quickly--don't know how long they'll be available for!

Go to SonyStyle.com (see previous message for direct link) and buy a 650 while they are in stock.
