Last coke zero of the day. Another hot day here, but also a brief thunderstorm this afternoon.

Did a barbeque this evening - butterflied leg of lamb, along with some chicken wings and sausages. Yum.

Sounds good. There is a restaurant near by that makes ginger ale from scratch.

Second Coke zero this evening, it is hot and very humid, our typical august tropical weather. Ice cubes melting literally in seconds.

I am absorbed in the Cromwell biography by Hilary Mantel, almost done with "bring up the bodies" after "wolf hall". Brilliant read!

Just finished some sweet tea.

I stopped at a big produce market/peach farm this afternoon and bought some dried peaches as well as some fresh ones. I'm going to make fried peach pies tomorrow, so I went ahead and made up my piecrust (with lard, of course!) a few minutes ago and will let it chill overnight. Yum!

Well if it makes you feel any better, I'm off on holiday to the South Wales coast today, then on to the Derbyshire Hills for a few more days

I hope it's not as wet as when I was there in early May! South Wales that is, still enjoyed it and the people are lovely and welcoming. Go and see Castel Coch if you haven't already, it's amazing. We only went because the band I'm in plays a march called Castel Coch and we were blown away by the place.

The weather forecast is for a mini-heatwave until Thursday, so cross fingers it will be okay until at least then. Thanks for the tip on Castell Coch - we are staying in Cardiff so it couldn't be much closer. We are looking for things to do with the kids, and this looks worth a squiz.
