I might have been had the films not been called Mission Impossible. Mission Impossible was always a team effort, not a one-man show. Those movies even dared to make Jim Phelps a traitor. But we know he wasn't, because this was what Jim Phelps looked like:

Yeah, I quite like the Mission Impossible films, and in them Tom Cruise is fine. But I'm with Stitchy as far as Jack Reacher goes - I'm going to have to tell myself repeatedly that this is some other Jack Reacher when I see the film.

And before it was Phelps, it was Dan Briggs for the first season. And Martin Landau didn't need fancy rubber masks. He could do it all with regular stage make-up!

Btw. What's a jack reacher? (I actually know some of the old series but not all of them ) sadly enough they ain't rerun anymore in Germany.
Would like to see Robin of Sherwood again.

Martin Landau was perhaps my favorite agent. Never could stand those rubber masks. I remember one episode where he discretely removed his disguise a piece at a time while sitting in an audience. When the speaker turned in his direction for backup of his words, he was gone, and Rollin Hand, of course, had no idea what he was speaking about or to where his imaginary friend had disappeared. Leonard Nimoy, Landau's replacement, was just plain silly. He was coming off having done the Star Trek thing and was anxious to prove he could display emotion, something MI team members weren't greatly noted for, and it was quite out-of-place on the show.

We stayed home for the fireworks this year to keep an eye on the yard because in my area "aerial fireworks are illegal" translates to "make sure you get the cannon too."

It wasn't even full dark and the windows were shaking from the booms of the cannons all around us. Beautiful displays but the amount of trees around us makes me nervous. We have all the water on around the yard to make sure everything is very damp.

Oh well, getting ready to go out back .... might as well enjoy the colorful displays.

Does any do any 'anviling?' Cannons without cannons? You pour black powder into the Hardy Hole in the bottom anvil, with a fuse (long looong fuse) sticking out, then put another anvil upside down covering the first. Then light the fuse and run like hell! With less than half a cigarette pack size worth of black powder, the top anvil gets blown about 25 feet up and the sound is unbelievable!
