do you think that as a country develops, it makes a tradeoff between development and morality?

some people on this forum are just plain pissing me off. i thought readers would be more sympathetic, but they're taking liberalism to a whole new length, as if the people they are wanting to put out of business aren't their fellow humans x_x

So I go to try out this "Spotify" service on my iPod touch.... only to find out in order to sign up with them you need a god**** Facebook account! WTF?! Why do I have to go through that **** ***** of service just to listen to music through you? **** it, I'll stick to Pandora then!

Yes, been there. The day is coming when passports will be retired and we'll all have to log on to our Facebook account to prove our identity (or membership of a community of shallow ****wits).

This morning the church tower played Obladi Oblada, which got stuck in my head until my father let a couple of customers listen to the tunes of a wireless doorbell and now I have the most annoying of those tunes stuck in my head.

There's a very good cure for that: Whistle the smurfs-theme. If you like the side-effects of said cure is an other question.

well....i guess that depends on culture as well

ok, so all the points that my brother has earned with me so far (in my mind anyway), has been almost dashed out. so his wife is pregnant; they never intended to have a baby, but somehow it happened. unfortunately, they didn't know and 2 weeks ago she got an xray, which is supposedly a no-no. if the baby is to be found having a defect in subsequent ultrasounds, they might abort it, but it seems unlikely as it was a chest xray, at least according to the doctor my sister is friends with. now they might return the cat they adopted from a shelter to the shelter because they're scared of...i'm not sure what. poor cat.

i'm just experiencing some form of moral dilemma right now. i don't really know how to feel about the whole thing. i pity the cat, i realize that unconditional love is very rare...and darn it all.

The chest X-ray is very unlikely to cause any problems. The problem with the cat is two-fold.

(i) The probably don't want to care for a cat and baby at the same time
(ii) Toxoplasmosis. This can cause serious problems if caught near the start of a pregnancy.
