I didn't win the galaxy S3

a local telcom was having a contest. i didn't realize you could enter more than once. the winner entered over a hundred times (in twitter). then the CS tweets that it's quality more than quantity, but of course the probability that you'd win is higher if you enter more times. pft.

Here's a little trick someone taught me to increase your chances of winning those lotteries where you drop a card or slip of paper in the box. Bend or crinkle the paper; that way it can’t stick to the other entries and the chance that yours will be drawn is greater.

Does it work? Don’t know, but Patrick assures me that it does.

Yesterday someone from the mobile phone company for businesses called with an offer. I wasn't interested but had some questions when my plan was up for renewal I wanted to switch to a business plan through our store. He told me he could arrange it all over phone so checked what the price was of the plan I wanted in combination with the phone I wanted. I agreed with everything and we ran through a list with questions. At the end he told me I would get a confirmation email and within a couple of day I would get the details of the agreement by snailmail.

This morning I hadn't received a confirmation email yet and I called if everything was okay and if he had misspelt my email address. However, they couldn't find any changes to my account and she thought it was strange because they can't change anything until the subscription is up for renewal. They put me through to a different department which has more access to the system but they couldn't find anything and they couldn't help me any further.

I thought it all very strange and send them an email. Hopefully the person reading the email is more willing to see if they can find what happened than the lady on the phone.

I was so looking forward to getting my new phone early and now I probably still have to wait it.

I hope it wasn't a scam, with someone just after your details. Are you sure they were from the phone company? Did you give over any financial information, like bank account or anything?

I'm pretty sure that they were from the phone company, since he has access to some of my details. I am keeping an eye on bank account, however.

Reasonably sure. Just in case I've moved the money from the bank account to another account. On the one I gave no overdraft is possible and I'll keep an eye on it.

That is just soooo nice of you, Freeshadow! I love the caring, giving nature of this forum! To go out on a limb like this for someone you only know as bytes on a screen is wonderful! It's motivating! It motivates me to want to help too. Let's be doubly sure that her money AND YOURS is safe!! Please feel free to move it all to MY bank. Being Japanese, we can be feel secure that the bad guys won't be able to penetrate all the layers of bureaucracy involved in withdrawing funds from my local bank!
