Actually, she had her moment of triumph this morning. Since she's moved out of her winter quarters (bed in the back of the closet) to her summer house (our bed,) this year she decided that she would prefer to sleep between our pillows despite the fact that we set up a lovely bed for her towards the bottom of the sheets.

We go to bed, she walks in, strolls to a spot between the pillows, and lays down. I pick her up and move her to her bed lower down. She gets up, strolls to a spot between the pillows, and lays down. I pick her up and move her to her bed lower down. She gets up, strolls to a spot between the pillows, and lays down. I pick her up and move her to her bed lower down. She gets up, etc., etc., until I give up and fall asleep, at which point she sleeps between the pillows.

This morning I woke up rather early. Felicity was sleeping between the pillows. I went into the kitchen, made myself a cup of tea, sat down to read the headlines, then remembered I wanted to change the batteries in the bedside flashlight. I walked back into the bedroom and there was Felicity, sound asleep on her bed at the bottom of the sheets! She was just waiting for me to leave before she'd do what I wanted!!! I'm setting the strobes for double flashes!

Cats always land paws down, right?
So nothing really serious should happen if you relocate her more energetic. When she's heading to the pillows next time, throw her out. Literally.

I had a cat when I was younger that would only sleep on my head. No matter how many times I pushed her off, she would lay over my head. She never covered my face. To wake me up in the mornings, she would "comb" my hair with her paw. Strange cat.

Cats always land paws down. Buttered bread always lands butter side down. What happens if I strap a piece of buttered bread to the back of my cat and launch her?

Before I got married (back in 1902, I believe it was), when one of my sisters first moved to Florida, she left her two cats with my mother and I for a month. The Siamese took off at the first opportunity and we never saw it again. They're notoriously one-person cats, and I always assumed it left to search for my sister. Her Persian (best cat ever) used to come in my room every morning and jump on the bed. As long as I didn't move or in any way display any signs of consciousness, I was okay. But if I made the slightest move, barely cracked my eyelids, or altered my breathing pattern even minutely, the cat would walk up to my face and begin licking until I was fully awake.

Try sleeping while someone's rubbing your cheeks with sandpaper!

Mine was a Siamese and grew up with me. She even learned to look both ways before crossing the street when I learned. You could watch her when she was by herself as she went to the edge of the street, sat down, looked both ways and waited until it was clear before crossing. She taught the babies how to do it also, by swatting them if they moved to cross before it was safe. Now that I think back, she also crossed the street to wait for the school bus, then crossed the street with me and brought me my pencil when I sat down to do homework. She also took baths with me.

The only thing she didn't ever learn was that weekends and holidays were for sleeping in. I have a feeling she did this on purpose.

Earliest memories are said to be about age of 2, which 'd make him about. 11 decades old.

He meant it. He's so old, they use him as a reference point for carbon dating archeology finds. When he got married, people were still jumping over broom handles and having their hands tied with chains of daisy's for the ceremony. His best man stood by fully armed with sword and shield to protect him from the bride's brothers...
