This classification is particularly absurd; what is Audible smoking? Philby didn't write this book nor is by someone who knew him and wrote a personal account of their interactions. It's a biography. That said, it's a fascinating book.

Another one I didn't catch.

Hunting up the correct genre for these daily deals is time-consuming when they get it wrong and/or don't list them. This happens all too often, so from now on, I won't list the genre.

Since eStories is running the same daily deal as Nook, does anyone object if I drop the Nook listing? Especially since eStories is DRM-free and Nook isn't.

I know you know my comment wasn't directed at you! It's annoying that the purveyors can't be bothered to get it right. Some joker looks at the title and makes a guess, apparently.

It's always been my biggest headache when posting any book deal. It's worth the time investment for deals that last a week or longer, but not for the daily deals.

Oh, I wish you would continue to list the genre they give. I don't expect you to verify that it's correct, or to hunt for it if they don't provide it, but I do think it's useful info since it's usually at least partially correct.

OK, point taken. Genres have been added to today's daily deals.

My favorite listings are fiction and general. That really narrows it down

Thanks. The genre listing really does help, even if it's just a matter of fiction or nonfiction.

As an aside, the other day I was looking at Audible's Romance Package, at the inspirational category. Among the Amish-themed and other sweet, faith-based romances was one book with both "incest" and "erotica" in the title. Really, Audible?

It is annoying and it's generally the publishing company that supplies the info, so there really should be no guessing. I do know that the "marketing wisdom" a few years back was to tag books with as many genres/categories as could be remotely relevant. This of course eventually ended up with books being tagged completely wrong (such as Romance under non-fiction, etc.).
