C section. The little guy hasn't dropped and did not tolerate stronger contractions last night. They will let me try vaginal but the Doctor is reasonably certain it would end in a c section. No time yet. Thanks for letting me post too much info here. We are waiting on stuff to b finalized before calling family.

Waiting. The choice has been made. I trust my Doctor. What good would panicking do? I am a bit bummed but the option is to be stubborn and try to avoid the c section. But he struggled with minor contractions and still has not dropped. Why stress him out and go through hours of labor nd end up with. C section?

(someone rename this to the pun thread?)Meanwhile, I tore my knee last night, headed over to the ER this AM. Feels like I tore the medial collatoral ligament. And this is my "good knee". Sigh. Well, could be worse. IAC, I'll be offline the rest of the day, but thinking about you, ProfCrash. Nothing in my cup.

You are absolutely right Prof. On the good side, a C section is a very quick procedure, so you won't have to wait hours to see your little man's face. You must be wondering what he looks like....I know I was.

I don't think I fidgeted this much when my one and only was born. (Of course that was at the end of 14 hours of labour. Who had any energy left to fidget?)

Strained medial collateral ligaments. They're stretched, but they didn't tear. This is good news, since it means no surgery and no significant swelling, which means the likelihood of serious arthritis and an eventual knee replacement is not materially made worse by this injury.

You say it's your birthdayIt's my birthday too, yeah They say it's your birthday We're gonna have a good time I'm glad it's your birthday Happy birthday to you. Yes we're going to a party party Yes we're going to a party party Yes we're going to a party party ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjF1bG5LUcs ) We haven't heard in a few hours so I'll say it... Happy birthday, BabyCrash! Good morning, everyone. I guess we're all on pins and needles waiting. This is harder than when my own son was born. But I guess it's probably harder on ProfCrash. Let's send some more healing energy her way! Today starts with a mug of unbranded Keemun tea, a bowl of rice with german sausages on top. Tasty combination. Then it's off to the Thai consulate to talk with their consular services person about getting my visa. I don't think I can get it from the consulate. It might have to be from the embassy in Tokyo, but I don't know for sure. The consulates are permitted to issue 'certain' visas, but for the one I want, I know that only a few places can issue them, and there is a lot of paperwork involved. Four copies of everything! This is worse than the Army! Stitchawl |

CRussell good news on the knee.
Lucas made his entrance at 12:39 today. He weighed in at 10 pounds 2 ounces, 22.5 inches long, and with a big head. I'll post pictures in a few days. He has already had a 40 minute meal and is currently napping. The c section as 100% the right call because it was highly unlikely that I would have been able to eliver him. And he was 5 days early. I am doing well. I still can't feel my legs but that is starting to change. Tomorrow they want me out of bed and walking. I should be t the hospital until Sunday. Thanks for all the support. I am going to go and stare at my baby boy. |
