Same issue here, credit kept appearing and disappearing as I tried to buy 2 items in the sale. One screen even told me I wasn't a member. But it finally worked after a couple refreshes.

Dang, I forgot to post this and it expires in a few days; and it's the final week

SYNC Weekly Deals -- Week 15 -- exp 18 Aug @ 7am ET

Note: further info can be found here --> SYNC 2016 | SYNC FAQs
Quote:
Bone Gap -- NOT Available in UK or British Commonwealth (except Canada)

Book Length --> SYNC= 8h 21m | Audible= 8h 21m

Everyone knows Bone Gap is full of gaps—gaps to trip you up, gaps to slide through so you can disappear forever.

So when young, beautiful Roza went missing, the people of Bone Gap weren't surprised. After all, it wasn't the first time that someone had slipped away and left Finn and Sean O'Sullivan on their own. Just a few years ago, their mother hightailed it to Oregon for a brand-new guy, a brand-new life. That's just how things go, the people said. Who are you going to blame?

Finn knows that's not what happened with Roza. He knows she was kidnapped, ripped from the cornfields by a dangerous man whose face he cannot remember. But the searches turn up nothing, and no one believes him anymore. Not even Sean, who has more reason to find Roza than anyone and every reason to blame Finn for letting her go.

As we follow the stories of Finn, Roza, and the people of Bone Gap—their melancholy pasts, their terrifying presents, their uncertain futures—acclaimed author Laura Ruby weaves a heartbreaking tale of love and loss, magic and mystery, regret and forgiveness—a story about how the face the world sees is never the sum of who we are.

Classic American Short Stories: And More Classic American Short Stories

Book Length --> SYNC= 5h 1m | Audible= 5h 9m

Written by: O Henry, Stephen Crane, Ambrose Bierce, Jack London, James Fenimore Cooper, Kate Chopin, Mark Twain

A special bundle just for SYNC listeners. Represented here are 16 short stories by seven great American writers, dating from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.

Different in atmosphere and writing style, they nevertheless caught the mood and concerns of the day in a way that was distinctly American. Kate Chopin's Regret is a reflective moment in the life of a woman without children, forced to look after children; Bierce's An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge leaves echoes in the imagination; the stories by Crane and London recall the themes of the Civil War and the Klondike for which they are well known. Twain's humor is to the fore in The Notorious Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and O. Henry's sharp observation makes his neat tales a joy to listen to. There is even an elegiac description of an eclipse by James Fenimore Cooper, author of The Last of the Mohicans.

Read with sensitivity and skill by Garrick Hagon, Liza Ross, and William Roberts.

I bought A-O on sale, a while back ($1.99 each) and have read up to and including J. I guess it's time to read another few, and then check prices for buying past O.

$1.95 -- Six Degrees of Assassination -- MJ Arlidge/ full cast --> 4.8 hrs/ R-4.2 --> thriller

Day 2 of Audible Studios Week

Quote:
Six Degrees of Assassination: An Audible Drama

Whispersync: no deals at this time

On a sullen, cloudy July day ten years since 7/7, the happy, confident and optimistic British Prime Minister is visiting a charity in East London. It’s just two months after the general election which saw John Campbell's government returned to power with a clear majority, the economy is on the mend and the coalition is fast becoming a bad memory. Suddenly, a man appears out of the crowd and shoots him three times in the chest.

Step forward Alex Cartwright (Andrew Scott), MI5 Chief Counter Terrorism Officer who must find out the truth. But it’s easier said than done, as he discovers that whoever ordered the assassination has covered their tracks very well indeed. Along with Ellen Townsend, his trusted second-in-command, Cartwright finds himself embroiled in a race against time which leads him into the murky heart of Westminster...and beyond.

From the pen of renowned screenwriter and novelist M J Arlidge, featuring an established British cast and with an exclusively-composed musical score, Six Degrees of Assassination is truly a thriller not to be missed.

$2.99 -- Above the Waterfall -- Ron Rash, Richard Ferrone, et al --> 5.5 hrs/ R-3.7 --> literary

Quote:
Whispersync: Audible ($11.99) | Kindle ($10.99)

In this poetic and haunting tale set in contemporary Appalachia, New York Times best-selling author Ron Rash illuminates lives shaped by violence and a powerful connection to the land.

Les, a longtime sheriff just three weeks from retirement, contends with the ravages of crystal meth and his own duplicity in his small Appalachian town.

Becky, a park ranger with a harrowing past, finds solace amid the lyrical beauty of this patch of North Carolina.

Enduring the mistakes and tragedies that have indelibly marked them, they are drawn together by a reverence for the natural world. When an irascible elderly local is accused of poisoning a trout stream, Les and Becky are plunged into deep and dangerous waters, forced to navigate currents of disillusionment and betrayal that will force them to question themselves and test their tentative bond - and threaten to carry them over the edge.

Echoing the heartbreaking beauty of William Faulkner and the spiritual isolation of Carson McCullers, Above the Waterfall demonstrates once again the prodigious talent of "a gorgeous, brutal writer" (Richard Price) hailed as "one of the great American authors at work today" (Janet Maslin, New York Times).

$1.99 -- The Castle of Kings -- Oliver Pötzsch/ Kate Reading --> 25.3 hrs/ R-3.7 --> historical

Quote:
Whispersync: Audible ($4.99) | Kindle ($14.99)

In 1524, in what is now Germany, hundreds of thousands of peasants revolt against the harsh treatment by their aristocratic overlords. Agnes, the daughter of one of these overlords, is not a typical sixteenth-century girl. She refuses to wear dresses and spends more time with her pet falcon than she does in trying to attract potential suitors. In fact, there is only one man who interests her: Mathis, a childhood friend, whom she can never marry because of his lowly birth. But the situation changes dramatically when a rogue knight attacks Agnes, Mathis shoots the knight to save her life, and the two are forced to go on the run together, into the midst of the raging peasants’ war.

Over the next two years, as Agnes and Mathis travel the countryside, are each captured by and escape from various factions of the war, participate in massive battles, and make new friends both noble and peasant, they also, of course, fall in love. Meanwhile, Agnes’ falcon finds a mysterious ring, and Agnes begins having strange dreams that lead the two lovers to revelations about their place in the world and in the emerging German states.

With The Castle of Kings, Oliver Pötzsch has written a historical epic that calls to mind Ken Follett’s The Pillars of the Earth and Bernard Cornwell’s Agincourt.

Quote:
Cyberspies: The Secret History of Surveillance, Hacking, and Digital Espionage

Whispersync: no deals at this time | Audible

The previously untold—and previously highly classified—story of the conflux of espionage and technology, a compelling narrative rich with astonishing revelations taking readers from World War II to the Internet age

As the digital era becomes increasingly pervasive, the intertwining forces of computers and espionage are reshaping the entire world; what was once the preserve of a few intelligence agencies now affects us all.

Corera’s compelling narrative takes us from the Second World War through the Cold War and the birth of the Internet to the present era of hackers and surveillance. The book is rich with historical detail and characters, as well as astonishing revelations about espionage carried out in recent times by the United Kingdom, the United States, and China. Using unique access to the NSA, GCHQ, Chinese officials, and senior executives from some of the most powerful global technology companies, Gordon Corera has gathered compelling stories from heads of state, hackers, and spies of all stripes.

Cyberspies is a groundbreaking exploration of the new space in which the worlds of espionage, diplomacy, international business, science, and technology collide.

$1.95 -- Romeo and Jude -- Marty Ross/ full cast --> 5.7 hrs/ R-4.3 --> contemp

Day 3 of Audible Studios Week

Quote:
Romeo and Jude: An Audible Original Drama

Whispersync: no deals at this time

Contains strong language and adult themes.

A gritty reimagining of Shakespeare's famous tragedy - full of passion, emotion, scandal, disillusionment and family fallout.

A brand new modern-day audiobook adaptation of William Shakespeare's classic love story.

Romeo and Jude - starring Owen Teale (Game of Thrones), Matthew Tennyson (Pride), Nick Moran (Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels) and Ricky Norwood (EastEnders).

An amateur dramatics company in a suburban corner of nowhere. Two men with very different lives, brought together when cast in the roles of Romeo and Juliet - 'as Shakespeare would have it', in the words of their eccentric and enigmatic director. Though the elicit romance doesn’t only play out on the stage.

Against the odds, our heroes struggle to keep hold of each other and to keep a handle on real life. As the pressures, threats and expectations of their worlds draw in, per Shakespeare's original, the pithy banter from the first few scenes evaporates away to reveal a very real and present danger...and even tragedy.
