Hello Mary Lou, goodbye heartSweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you I knew Mary Lou, we'd never part So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart You passed me by one sunny day Flashed those big brown eyes my way And oo I wanted you forever more Now I'm not one that gets around Swear my feet stuck to the ground And though I never did meet you before I said, hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart Sweet Mary Lou, I'm so in love with you I knew Mary Lou, we'd never part So hello Mary Lou, goodbye heart ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLkCWT2neuI ) Good morning, everyone! Happy Friday! (It IS Friday, right?) Twining's "Prince of Wales" with a double shot of tea leaves today, along with a ham sandwich loaded with sliced pickles and spicy brown mustard. I could probably be just as happy to leave out the ham... Quote:
We all know about using the knees to lift things rather than bending over and using our backs. But before I met Jolie I never considered what I was doing when reaching for things on higher shelves... In fact I was arching my back rather than raising my arms higher at the shoulders... It seems this is VERY common. So every time I was lifting my arms I was stressing my lower back! Watching other people move, I see this almost every day! And now I'm VERY careful to use my shoulders these days rather than my lower back! It works! Stitchawl |

Cafe con leche in my cup.
I followed your link to her website too, thanks for that Stitch. It is indeed really good, and confirms a lot I have experienced myself. My main attention with my posture is my core because I found out that if I am careful of a keeping my core "blocked" in the right position while I move (daily business or exercising), my back does not hurt afterwards and my exercising is more effective. By core I mean the "belt" around my mid-body (abs, hips, lower back, bottom). I now understand why pilates work so well for many persons I know. I personally do not like floor exercise, so I tried pilates two or three times and it is not my thing, but I have to admit the principles make sense and are in a line with the advices given by your friend on her site. |

Coke Zero #1. And, alas, another long-ish drive today. It's hard to sit well in a car seat!

Pilates and yoga are both great because they focus on the core. If your core is strong, you are in much better shape. I keep trying to convince the Hubby of this but he is stubborn.
I am so excited about the prospect of getting back to the gym and working out again... So baby boy will make his entrance sometime in the last week of June. He is big and getting bigger so the Doctor wants to induce in week 39 to decrease the chance of a c-section. Baby boy does not seem to agree with this assessment and is happily avoiding dropping while chilaxing in the womb. Given that I am a few days away from week 38, this is a bit unusual. The next couple of weeks should be very exciting. I can just picture the little big guy going "Nah, I want to come now" and making an appearence next week just cause he can. (winks) |

Ahmad mint green tea in my cup. It is starting to get ridiculously hot here. I made a peach coffee cake with streusel today.

ProfCrash -- Stitchawl is right. We're all pulling for you. I could use a good addition to the world, since I lost a friend last night. A fellow author, and a fellow Microsoft MVP, Eriq was someone I respected a great deal. It wasn't a surprise, we'd known it was coming for a year, basically, but it's still tough.
Finishing up tonight with a glass of Oban, his favourite. Here's to you, friend. |

Sorry for your loss Charlie. We have not enough joyful new arrivals around us either to balance with the sad departures, so I am rooting for Prof's passenger ! Turn around, baby, head down, come on !
Coffee before a day filled with kids activities, tennis, playdate, and so on...will stop at Carrefour to refill the "treats" cupboard and to buy DH good undies

I wonder why Carrefour and Tessco haven't opened stores in the US? Although I will add that Tessco's Japanese stores just sold out to Aeon... Carrefour and Tessco are all over South East Asia as huge mega-stores.
Four of the clock here, rainy and wet, I've spent two hours in deep meditation and now it's time for some Ice tea, popcorn, and play catch-up with e-mails! Stitchawl |

Sorry to hear about your friend, CRussel. We just lost an engineer here at work, and it was unexpected. Life certainly likes to creep up on you once in a while and give a swift kick up the pants. Rooibos. Always Rooibos. |
