Does changing pages in epub using Koreader is the same speed or slower as changing pages in kepub on original software?

@mroni: I don't see a difference at all for all practical purposes. E-ink is slow, software rendering is still fast in comparison, however it's done. There are probably edge cases for large or complex documents - I don't know what cases are faster on what platform. But then I didn't hear of anybody chosing one over the other for speed reasons. |

@hawhill: I think @mroni is worried because the page turn speed of Kobo's *epub* renderer is just plain terrible [especially if you're used to other devices] (while their *kepub* one is moderately faster).
@mroni: As @hawhill mentioned, barring weird CRe issues, KOReader should behave sanely (i.e., as fast or faster than Kobo's kepub engine). Last edited by NiLuJe; 01-15-2015 at 09:15 AM. |

I set also the scroll mode on. I don't scroll, just turn pages, but when scroll mode is off the new page doesn't start where the previuos ended. Maybe I'm missing some other setting but this way works for me. |

Thank you, reflow etc works great,
but when i add books now iwth Calibre, it the first time didnt get added to the library in nickel (it is in the file manager and readable by koreader) and the second time i added and adjusted books it removed the library completely from nickel, now saying no books in there.. is this a common bug? any thoughts? thank you.. |

Sounds like a corrupted filesystem. Did your experiments also include a hard reset (via long-hold of the power switch) at some point? Or a hard eject from host PC (not using the proper eject USB media option)?
Edit: no, that's wrong, it sounds like a corrupted Nickel database. Which happens when you exit/kill Nickel in a bad moment. Not sure if we established yet when that can happen. |

i'll let you know if it disappears again for any reason.. no there no times when i exited /killed nickel at any bad moments, that i know of... the only thing i could think of was yesterday one fo the books would freeze when trying to select text... but it didnt do anything to the library until i connected it to calibre today.. i'll keep posted.. couple other questions.. wondering about setting the koreader 'power off' screen to an image.. i've seen some posts about this but iddnt get where the script needed to be added and where the image would need to be put.. same goes for a screen saver.. thanks for your work |

Koreader does have a sleep/screensave/suspend function On the last page of the Advanced settings there is an entry that lets you define the path to your image, this is for when the book file has no cover or when you set the option to not use the book's cover. Luck; Ken |

How do I setup Evernote export?
When I try to login I get an error saying incorrect username or password, but I know for certain that they are correct. Any ideas? |

The PowerOff page displayed is basically just a very simple HTML page. Like one page of an HTML book/pamphlet/web page. That might scare some, but all the code that you need is spelled out in the examples, you can just replace the text used with your own and add images if you want. Or you can do what I did and create the displayed page as a full page image and just have that as the body of the page, defined in the HTML code. I used GIMP2 to compose the picture. My poweroff_info.html: <html> <head> <title>kobo menu info</title> <style type="image/png"> p { margin-top: 0.5em; } </style> </head> <body> <img src="/mnt/onboard/.kobo/kbmenu/txt/poweroff.png"> </body> </html> See.. nothing to it. I have my poweroff.png image file in the same directory with the poweroff_info.html above. (Just to make it easy to find.) If you have any more to address KSM you should post it in the KSM thread. Luck; Ken |

It seems to me that "frontlight_intensity" in settings.reader.lua has no effect. Or is it me?
