Other demands at home and work. I've felt kind of like a wishbone this past month (if you get my drift).

I've been darning the tattered threads and ironing the wrinkles out of that rich tapestry, which is life. The task has left me kind of frumpy . . . I'm trying to get my snark back, but I don't remember where I left it.

And don't forget the learner's permits that allow a child of 14 (usually) to drive with the parent sitting in the passenger seat. the scariest day ofmy life was when I got my permit and Dad took me out to show me that he could control the car if I was driving just by yelling in my ear. Amazing mental powers that man. I miss him a lot...

Kids here are allowed to drive a farming vehicle at the age of 16. But only after getting a license for it. And you can only drive that farming vehicles with it (with a speed between 16-25km/h). If you want to drive a 50cc motor bike, you'll also need to get a license, and the maximum speed on those are 35-45 km/h (depending on where you're driving it). And only once you're 18 and get a regular driver's license do the other licenses become obsolete.

I don't have a drivers license. I've had a Learners Permit twice (once about 20 years ago, and once about 12 years ago), which requires a fully licensed person in the passenger seat beside you. I've driven a car...five times, from between 5 and 15 minutes each - all up in my life I've driven for less than an hour.
