Finished The Quincunx and enjoyed every second. I'm now giving my brain a chance to release the four thousand people, places and clues I had to remember while reading it and have started the latest Charlaine Harris Stackhouse book, Dead and Gone.

I recently finished "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle" by David Wroblewski and "The Accident Man" by Tom Cain. I enjoyed both books.

I wasn't too keen on the ending of the Edgar Sawtelle book. The rest of the book was decent though, it was only after reading it that I read somewhere is was an adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet. I don't recall whether I read Hamlet in High School but I didn't really make the connection while reading Sawtelle, but then again I never understood Shakespeare and my high school days are pretty blurred now. So I assume that is why the book ended the way it did due to the hamlet adaptation. Also the book could have been shortened somewhat, it dragged on a little.

The Accident Man was more my typical read. Thriller. I really enjoyed this read. It wasn't too long and not too short, just right. The protaganist was refreshing as you really weren't sure whether he was good or bad. In the end it was a fairly typical thriller but it was fast paced and really exciting at times. Just what I needed after the Sawtelle book.

I am now onto another dog centric book. "The Art of Racing in the Rain" by Garth Stein. I will be starting this on my way home after work tonight. It's a fairly short read so should only take me a couple days.

I finally reached "The Hogfather" .... which is what started me on this path originally. Haven't hit an uninteresting or unfunny book in the series yet.

Just finished "Final Blackout". Well written, interesting point of view. Great hero, that Lieutenant.

I'd love to have a leader out there I'd follow into hell.

Absolutely recommended.

Its unfortunate L Ron Hubbard went whacko in his later years. He had a talent.

Now starting "Good Omens" By Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.

Unfortunately, both these books available only in paper format. While not my first choice in reading formats, some books are worth the inconvenience.

I'm reading "Don't Bargain with the Devil" by Sabrina Jeffries (a romance novel). Got a few romance novels to read through before the next batch comes out.

Just finished Lover Avenged by J. R. Ward really good. However, you need to be familiar with the prior books of the series. This would be a hard on to jump into the middle of. (pardon the dangling participle) At the moment I am reading Till There Was You by Lynn Kurland, a time travel book, promises to be very amusing.

Thanks for mentioning that "dangling participle"! Now I finally know what it means (I've known the word ever since playing King's Quest 6, but never got around to finding out what it was )

Wouldn't you prefer erect participles?

Reading The Broken God by David Zindell (I took a break from this book). Not as good as the prequel Neverness, but not too bad.

Reading also a non-fiction book: The Collapse of Complex Societies by Joseph Tainter. (I think a similar collapse is just starting world-wide.)
