Ummm...can someone, anyone put a stop to thread and suspend the members involved for a few days.

I thought MR was better than that thread.

I don't think it's possible to stop the recurring threads of "piracy is theft; no it's not." That particular thread, I followed it for a day or two before leaving it. They can shout all they want; I'm not there to see it.

I just want justice. Damnit. Frontier justice. Hang them up by their thumbs so they can't use their e-readers for a few days. Yeah, and then make them listen to abridged Dan Brown audio books read by Alvin, Simon and Theodore.

Go to the thread, select Thread Tools, and click on Ignore Thread, poof, gone. I just did, even though I've been involved in the thread. I'm done with it.

Oh, lord. A co-worker's husband called. She said, "tell him I'm not here." Well, I thought she was joking so I smile and say, "she says she's not here." She wasn't joking because he had called her 6 times. She was quite angry. He is older and recuping from hospital and being needy, which is why. So, I'm freaking out over 3 things.

1. Her being angry.

2. Having caused problems between them.

3. SHE"S the co-worker I told the stupid story to years ago (see a previous rant), so, if she is mad at me, she could cause real trouble by spreading that silliness.

The proper thing to do here would be to use the report post function on a post in that thread (Example: Attachment 79716). The moderating team can't possibly be expected to catch every violation from posts such as this in unrelated threads. There are, as of this writing, 1,847,989 posts on MobileRead. None of us have read them all.

I have reported that thread for consideration in the Editor Domain.

I could have done that, but I tend not to report people. For the most part I'm very easy going. This thread and the approximately 849,384 of the 1,847,989 posts on MobileRead arguing about DRM and copyright laws just got to me today.

Does anyone want a 23-month old? Seriously. It's almost 10:30pm and now he's eating cookies. Great. Just great. And no, I didn't give him the cookie. Mom did. Who also failed to mention to me that he woke up from this afternoon's nap at 4:30pm. After I had been trying for an hour to put him to sleep at 8:00pm.

It's what we called 'The Terrific Twos!' Enjoy it. It doesn't last long and it beats the heck out of "Dad, can I borrow the car... and ten bucks?"

[rant on] I seriously HATE, HATE, HATE my pond pump! Did I say HATE? I just got clean and dry after trying unsuccessfully to get it to run. I tried using the hose to prime it and tried using a 5 gallon bucket of water to prime it - over and over and over and over.

I dropped the bucket and spilled it all over my pants and shoes, then dropped the hose and it landed and sprayed the rest of me from head to toe. I'm dripping wet and the dumb thing still won't pull water to run the pump and waterfall!

Did I say that it is cold outside? We have just had a few nights of below freezing temps and today had the first little window of sunshine, so I thought I would clean the pond - at least make it look less green. I works great to backflush and clean/empty water, but once I want to reverse it , it doesn't get the suction to pull water. Everything is clean, no obstruction. Grumble....

Every year, I go through this and swear I will fill it in with dirt and plant some trees and make a small sitting area. Then when I get it going and I watch and listen to the waterfall, I forget how much trouble it is. [ rant off ]

I feel better... not really, I hate letting something get the better of me, but it felt good to type the frustration out.

@ SS - That is what it felt like as I was soaking wet and still trying to get it to work.

My toes are finally warm again, but I am still thinking about that dumb pump. **Thanks, Tom, I am glad I brought a little smile to you, today.

I am just happy my nephews were not around to video the process - I would have nightmares of seeing it on youtube or something. Especially the part where the hose sprayed me, I fell back against the cypress trees, then jumped around shaking my head and brushing down my clothes, as I wildly tried to make sure there were no spiders on me.

The bad part was that I had on my leather boots - that are still wet.
