A good continuation, but definitely the second part of a single story without much of a volume-level conclusion. And so,

Next up: Cobra Gamble, the third part of the series.

Hey!! Let's get some action going! What are we reading?

Still working my way through "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix". Like the earlier installments, I'm immensely enjoying it however I've been noticing that I'm reading much less than I used to. This happens to me, there are months where I just read lots of books and then I suddenly get bored from reading? I don't feel like reading? I don't know what it is exactly. For example, I'm currently at the place I'm interning at but I've been just sitting for over an hour with nothing to do, I have my Kindle in my bag but I don't feel like reading. I've been taking my Kindle everyday with me but I haven't yet touched it.

This was a cute story. I know nothing of fan fiction, so this was a nice way to dip my toes in this world.

Now I'm reading The Shining to get ready for Dr. Sleep.

Well, it's probably best not to be sitting doing personal reading when you're at work.

Not even at work. When I go back home too. This past week I've only read one chapter.

Gazella, you've got to get over the boredom and get back to reading! I really depend on your book reviews and recommendations. I expect a lot of other MobileReaders do too.

Find a good trashy thriller and blaze through it

I haven't been doing much better than that, but that's mainly due to having my head in "writing" rather than "reading" mode for the last couple of months. I'm currently reading a bit more, but that's because I'm at a delicate point in the manuscript and have to approach the next couple of chapters just right...so I'm working on the plotting on the back burner while I get a little reading and some research done up front.

Thank you, MickeyC. I'll try my best. I might take a break from Harry Potter and read something else.

I've been battling the same problem for more than a month now. I really hate it.

Sometimes one can just be 'read out' and need a break. Watch a good movie or two. Listen to the radio or watch TV for a couple of evenings.

And then perhaps re-read an old favourite, or a start a new book by a favourite author.

A real bummer huh. Especially since I really love to read. This isn't the first time. I've had it happen a few times before but it usually takes me about a month or so to get back to really reading.

I appreciate the suggestions. Seems like a good idea.

I'm currently reading The Book Of Gud, a 1929 work by "Dan Spain" (Milo Milton Hastings) & Harold Brainerd Hersey. It's quite enjoyable, and holds up well. It's a collection of humorous parables written by Gud; a god who doesn't exist because no one believes in him. It's available at Amazon and elsewhere free of charge.

I think we've all been through times where we just don't feel like reading. All the suggestions are good ones, and you'll have to decide what works best for you. For me, the re-reading of an old favourite often seems to be the way to go. Usually something light. The other thing I've had success with is switching to an audio book.

I'm reading 'Outlander' and enjoying it immensely, but it seems to be taking me a long time to get through it!

It's a big book, after all. I read it as an Audible book, and it was over 30 hours. But an enjoyable listen.
