I can hear the soft breathing of the girl that I loveAs she lies here beside me asleep with the night And her hair in a fine mist floats on my pillow Reflecting the glow of the winter moonlight ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0gWf2...eature=related ) Good morning, all! It's a beautiful summer day already, sunny and warm. Unfortunately, it's Spring and I really would like to be able to wear Spring clothes for more than 3 days before switching seasons... I suppose I shouldn't complain. Mr. Ahmad has supplied "English Breakfast" tea this morning, and I'm slugging it down with olives, pita, and feta cheese. I received a call from my riding students last night. Both of them failed to get out of the starting gate. In her nervousness, the woman sat on the bike before putting up the kickstand, an immediate fail, while the young fellow forgot to pretend to adjust the mirrors before starting the bike. He started it and THEN adjusted the mirrors. Immediate fail. Oh well, nobody ever passes the first time anyway. They will both be less nervous next time. Stitchawl |

Call for The Masters of the Understatement !!!!!! If something makes sense, it is NOT Japanese. I can enter a foreign country anywhere in the world and feel confident about finding my way, traveling to some place, finding a room, negotiating mass transit, ordering in a restaurant, etc....... .......except in Japan. And I've been here a long time, speak the language, can read the signs (some of them) etc., and it's still very difficult. Stitchawl |

You may as well learn to like it. You sure aren't going to be able to change it.
![]() I put on a pair of shorts when I got home this afternoon! First short pants of the new year. And a cotton short sleeved shirt too! So of course I had to make a pitcher of Ice Tea! And I'm still drinking it! I am sooooo happy that Costco has come to town. I was able to buy real U.S. Grade A "Choice" sirloin steaks, cut 3/4" thick today! The local stupidmarket cuts whatever cut it might be in 1/4" thick and it's still flavorless! (All countries cut their beef differently. Japan does so by de-boning the meat... You never know what part of the cow you are getting...) Imagine a Standing Rib Roast... without the ribs... Tasted sooooo good. We haven't been able to buy 'real' meat in a long time. We don't eat beef often, but when I do I want it to be good. I think it's time to switch from Ice Tea to Bombay Sapphire! Stitchawl |

Coke Zero #3 in my cup.
We're officially in 'drought' and a hosepipe ban is in effect. We've had rain almost every day for the past three weeks. I had to clear my guttering to stop it overflowing from all the rain. |

Rooibos Panna Cotta Rhubarb Cream
OJ and Skim Milk with breakfast. Caya enjoyed licking up the milk that spilled as I walked down stairs with my cereal. |

We're in no danger of drought this summer, despite the lack of much in the way of snow locally. The mountains got more than their fair share.
But there will likely still be sprinkler restrictions (what North Americans call hosepipe bans), just because of the number of people here in the summer months. And, of course, the lack of rain. They call this the Sunshine Coast for a reason. ![]() Finished my fresh squeezed OJ. Waiting for the Peet's Major Dickason's to brew. |

New additions to the Tea House are always welcome, even when they drink coffee or <shudder> coke zero. Though be prepared for the occasional suggestion about teas you might like.
