Update: day 2 home after partner's angioplasty
Just took the pressure bandages off the wound site in her groin - went better than I had expected - (memo - always have baby oil in the house) - no bleeding - site looks much better than I had expected. The docs/hospital shouldn't make ordinary folk do these things! My heart was in my throat - didn't know what to expect - but had to stay calm for her. Now I need a drink! She's sleeping again. I'm constantly sneaking in to take a quick look for any leaks! Cats locked out of bedroom. |

I only made it an hour and 45 min. I'm training to do an "elliptical marathon" - about 4-1/2 or 5 hours at a brisk rate that keeps my heart rate at 160. I'm doing an hour on weekdays and longer on weekends. The goal keeps me motivated whereas I usually struggle to make time for exercise. I figure by the time I reach my goal I'll be so thin and trim that I'll have to run around in the shower to get wet! (doggie dances in anticipation) Then I can switch to a 30 min. daily maintenance mode. That's the plan, anyway. Wish me luck!

Good on ya, Kenny. Do it! And let me just say that I absolutely love my elliptical trainer. Silent, reliable, no maintenance, no butt pain (from a cycle seat), no joint pains, and I can burn like mad on that thing. But if you're interested, you have to try them out to make sure the stride and stance and such are comfortable. You'd have to be bow legged to use some of them.

One of the pool hoses busted today and water is all over the yard. I think it melted from the heat. They were made to hold water, not steam! I took the old one off a couple of hours ago and decided to wait until now to brave to heat to put the replacement on.
Bye, now! If you don't hear from me within the next 24 hours, assume I died from heat stroke. ![]() |
