I eread while in labor. (Not the pushing part. ) I couldn't sleep, and the tv in my hospital room was awful, so that left with me my Kindle. Breathe breathe, read read. Breathe breathe, read read. Of course, I don't remember anything about the book now, but it was a great distraction at the time.

Wish I'd thought of reading during labor. It would have been a great distraction from having to watch my wife's pain!

I think it would have quickly become your pain, if you had read at that time. I know I would have had you in a full submission pose, and just think how much harder she could have gripped you in the midst of a contraction?

On the way to a funeral ...

... sounds a bit insensitive but we were following the coffin which was being taken to he crematorium in a horse and cart making it a very long hour journey.

I get very carsick and reading actually takes my mind off the journey so that's what I did. As soon as we got there, the Kindle was put away.

My sister-in-law bless her would have been fine with that.

I bring the nook regularly to physical therapy (now at twice a week) and read while on the treadmill as well as at the end while receiving e-stim/ice. It was a little awkward balancing at first but now it's pretty easy. I also read prior to surgery last month (which worked out perfectly as the surgeon was 3 hours late!).

I'm an x-ray tech. In the OR, when they need a c-arm, I have to be there to manipulate it for them. At times they need it out of the way for long stretches, but they don't want to have to call the tech when they need it, so I sit and read. It's annoying to waste manhours like that, but doctors feel so entitled nowadays. :-)

I listen to audio books all the time. It helps to avoid the trees, trenches and other people.

I remember getting those a few times when I was little (seizures). Always made a mess of my hair. And of course there were no ebook readers back then. I often read (on my netbook) while enjoying a cup of coffee at a local restaurant.
