Snow Leopard + Calibre 0.6 = CRASH! :( - Page 13

It's still working, but I've gotten the index error a few times.

The index error is:

ERROR: ERROR: Unhandled exception: <b>IndexError</b>:list index out of range

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "calibre/gui2/tag_view.pyo", line 179, in index
IndexError: list index out of range

It converts on the second try, but I thought I should report it.

6.13 works here very nicely! I am now downloading 6.14. If it works too I won't be back tonite (gettin' late) but if there's a problem I'll note it before hitting the sack. Thank you, Kovid, for not forgetting about us Mac people!

Working fine here. Had some problems recognising the library, but erasing the preferences solved that. Since, I've added and converted books without any trouble.

I've got a few text documents that I want to batch convert to EPUB for better viewing on an e-reader, however they're taking forever to import into Calibre.

It's about 10 text files and it's been working on it over 8 hours now. Calibre is using 4 and a bit CPU's worth of CPU time according to activity monitor. Is this typical or does it sound like something has crashed?

My system is a Mac Pro running Snow Leopard, 2x Quad Core 2.8GHz Xeon, 14GB RAM.

I notice that the Calibre application is a PowerPC app rather than a Universal Binary. Could this be why it's running slowly for me, or does it sound like it's crashed?

I only have .6.7 but it shows as Universal Binary for me.

Yes my bad, it had remembered the force rosetta setting.

post the log from console.app when it crashes.

I get a terminate message that the program cannot find the library. I hold my book files on an external drive and it seems to be looking in my :/users/library directory. Is there anything i can do myself to redirect the program to the correct path?

Thanks for any input on this. Very grateful.

Start Calibre with the
--with-library Calibre_Library_Directory
parameter to specify the new location.

Got my new macbook pro (with SL) a couple of weeks ago.... and installed XP just for Calibre and a few others just in case.

Can happily report calibre 0.6.14 installed fine in SL, pointed to my library ok.... and has just detected my Sony 505 and it's SD card. Deleted a book off the reader and then put it back on, no problem.
Haven't tried converting......but, hey

Very, very, very happy.

Just waiting for the impending release of ewallet for MAC and i'll be very close ditching windows for good.
