When you connect your Kobo to the computer are you first going to the home screen? The problem is that by connecting while a book is open can leave the database open and it can then get corrupted. Going to the home screen may close what's open and allow your Kobo to work properly.

If that is still a problem, the other solution is to reboot before connecting to the computer.

I use a Foilio case and tend to open the cover (magnetic) and plug in the Forma with whatever book I'm currently reading still open.

The confusing part is that I'm on firmware 4.38 from August '23 and yet this issue only began around a month or so ago. If it's the firmware, I do wonder why I haven't experienced this before. My behaviour around plugging the Forma in and using Calibre hasn't changed in years. I'm doing nothing different.

I'll have a play with it today and figure out which method is quickest and easiest.

One of our largest online retailers just put a 22% discount on the Sage and has in the description that the product will soon be discontinued.

Another very large retailer has none in stores and only one in central (online) stock.

I'm guessing a replacement for Sage is very, very soon going to be announced.

The same thing happened to me. I never experienced the problem until it started happening out of the blue. Rebooting the ereader before connecting it to the computer has "fixed" it for me until Kobo releases new firmware.

Another me too here - Ie had 4.38 on my Sage since mid-November iirc, the database corruption only started 2 weeks ago.
