Nope.
It is a fairly common search engine entry format.
The dynamic dropdown of suggestions based on the characters entered at any point is marketed to the users as a helpful feature.

But it is actually just a list of the most common searches with a similar character string that are already indexed on the search engine server.
If someone picks one of those, it saves the search engine provider all of the server processing time to index on a new search phrase.
I.E: A cost-of-operation reduction device for the provider.

And the next step in the evolution will be to only let a person search for what has been searched for (and indexed) in the past.

If you want to search for something not already on the list, there will be a small charge.

We might have to wait for that before they start charging for "original" search strings.

I haven't noticed anyone mention that they actually raised the price on the Oasis to $359 (with offers). Ouch!

They didn't raise the price--that's always been the price for the 3g model, which is all they have for sale right now.

I wanted a new kindle this year but as I already have a Voyage and a Paperwhite 2, both 3G, I've decided to get the new Fire HD10 instead. I can't help but feel if a new kindle was coming it would have been announced by now.

We still have the 10th anniversary of the Kindle coming up soon. No way that Amazon lets that milestone slip by without at least a tweak to the lineup. And don't forget those earlier reports from E-ink saying their stock will be going up later this year because of a major purchase from Amazon.

(It’s actually difficult for me to believe there won’t be new Kindle this year.)

That's not until November though, I guess they could announce something to be released on that day but it's getting close to Black Friday and Christmas.

Yeah, that would be a tight window if they waited until November. I'd guess they announce earlier, in October, with general language about this year being the 10th anniversary of the Kindle line. It's close enough to be a legitimate acknowledgement of the birthday, considering they still want to make the shopping season.
