UPDATE: I successfully downgraded to 3.12.1 without doing the factory reset. I'll observe if it's stable or if I'd still need to do a reset. So far it's looking good and checking the database via KoboUtilities said the same thing.

Hi, I'm new. My English is not very good.
My kobo my serial number: n905jnnnnnnnn(n:number)
But in a letter n905c bottom corner.
Current 3.16.0 installed.
3:18 am installing the patch by following the instructions. However, USB is not working. After a while it freezes.

Where I might be doing wrong.
I want to install 3:18. Because I need English-Turkish dictionary

Did you try to sync via wifi? This should update the FW to 3.18.0 (execept your affiliate is RakutenBooks, or maybe some other that I do not know). If this does not work, factory reset your device, and then install 3.18.0.
My Touch also had problems connecting to the pc under FW 3.16.0, it always rebooted (because of sickel).

i think you mean FW 3.16.10, there is no sickel in FW 3.16.0.

You can sideload 3.18.0 FW, download Mark 4 from here, and follow the Installation Instructions for Direct Zip Files.

If the touch N905C is equipped with a internal SD card that can be removed, he could put the right upgrade on it, insert it back and then perform the upgrade?
(the device has to be opened to do that..)

905c is Mark 4, sorry for the mix up.

Also i don't think you can load FW direct to the the internal sd card from pc, the computer wants to format the sd card and you can not open it.

I am glad it works for you.
Changed my answer as you changed yours.
When I use the ext3 plugin for windows,I can access the card without no problems and can locate the .kobo directory, the internal card has two partitions, on partition two I can see everything what is in the book,the same as what I would see when connecting to it when it was still in the reader with a filemanager over USB.
So it is not right saying that when you take out the card and place that in a reader that it wants to format it, it doesn't.
