Yes, 2.5 and the latest Kobo desktop as well as Kobo gave me a URL to download it from specifically. They made me uninstall and reinstall the desktop.

It would register and set up via wifi, and sync okay. I just can't connect it to my pc.

page jumping?

Not sure if anyone has experienced this, but on the h2o I sometimes experience page jumping with a single press on the right hand side of the screen. Sometimes it jumps ahead up to 3 pages. Maybe it's the difference in with capacitive vs ir? Maybe I need to adjust how I touch the screen (I typically have a light touch as to keep down fingerprints)? Maybe I'm nuts?

Honestly, I haven't run into that problem. Perhaps it just comes down to how hard or the duration of the press. I dunno.

I was tempted to try and install the latest firmware but I didn't want to bugger up my chances of getting a replacement or refund from Argos so I figured I'd be better off asking for a replacement than mucking around myself and voiding my right to a refund/replacement.

It's breaking the IR beams that matter; the hardness of a press would probably come into play because the press is longer or covers more area?

Yes tempting to try 3.8.0 but probably safer to wait. My H2O is now running patched 3.8.0 without problem. Hope it is 3rd time lucky for you - and that your new H2O arrives soon.

I can turn a page by almost touching screen and sometimes do this without trying. All that matters is breaking IR beam.

I realised i can't try 3.80 as I can't access the kobo drive to load it, so a replacement now is my only option

Look on the bright side, at least it proves you were right to return the first one for having an inferior screen, as now you can see how good the screen should look. Fingers crossed your replacement is a keeper, third time lucky and all that....
