Small request.
When in the grouping drawer, scrolling up scrolls up everything below the search bar except the word Groups. It would be nice if you had already picked a group (ie title), when you scrolled down it would leave the group (ie Title) on the display as well. That would make it easier to go back a level and also make it more consistent with the way groups work. Thanks. |

![]() If you are playing with the screen and the options page, I wouldn't mind an option to hide the search bar. I don't think I have ever used it except in testing. |

No. It is buried too deep in the app for that.

EDIT: actually, if you ever use the long-press to filter then you use the search box to cancel it. |

Oh, ok. Well, I get 12 lines under the grouping, so losing one would be fine for me, but I have a large screen phone.

I don't ever do that. I like to browse categories and then go from book to book. Last edited by kaufman; 08-22-2014 at 02:46 PM. |

OK, one more little UI idea. Please let me know if you get tired of hearing these.
It would be nice to have some visual indication of when the device was connected to Calibre. I thought of two possibilities 1) In the book list show a W or a C in the top of the display. 2) In the grouping drawer show a message stating the type of connection at the top near the Grouping/Book count/Sorting messages. |

Oh right. Would you consider making this a three state option.
Always show in menu Always show on Screen Show on both when connected Essentially, the third one would work the way the existing "Move Connect to Menu" does, but it would also show the disconnect button on the screen when connected. |

Instead of cutting of at a certain number of characters, how about cutting it off at a certain number of lines. Since the purpose of this is to limit how much space the books takes up on the list, it is really number of lines that users want to limit, not the number of characters. The big advantages to doing it by lines is that 1) The first time a user does it, they don't have to do a trial and error to see how many characters there are in 1, 2, or 3 (or however many lines they want) lines. 2) If the user ever changes their font size, their selection will continue to work. |

You could say that any number under 10 would be the number of lines and any larger number would remain the number of characters.

True. I tend not to like probabilistic behavior like this, but in this case it should be OK. That does mean that I would have to limit the number of lines entered in the "new system" to less than the inflection point.

That's probably ok, since the largest number for lines is probably about 15, and the smallest number for characters is probably about 50. You could make the inflection point 25 and never have an issue. (Famous last words.)
