Where did you get that info from? I don't recall reading that in here. I've read over & over abuse of policy nothing on piracy. Where'd that come from? |

And this is precisely why stores return policies change. Abuse of Policy. What exactly did the store do wrong that would warrant the item being returned? Nothing that I can think of. Is the unit defective? No. Amazon banned them for something. How is that the store's fault that they should absorb the loss on a return? ![]() |

I wonder what "closed due to piracy" would be.
Would Amazon notice if you returned a kindle book and the same book showed up on your kindle in DRM-stripped mobi format shortly thereafter? |

That was a different person whose account was closed due to piracy.

jrw93,
If you are truly innocent, then you have my deepest sympathy, but many of us, with years of web experience, have learned to be skeptical. Frequently, people post trying to damage the reputation of a company they feel has wronged them. Look at it from our point of view, a new user posts inconsistent information about Amazon closing their account. Some of your actions and reactions come off a bit immature, or at least, not well thought out. i.e., logging into your account with your kindle. I would have warned you against doing that, but it never occurred to me that you would. To put it bluntly, that was stupid. So was trying to immediately create another account. Actions like that cause you to lose sympathy from those of us following this and damage your credibility. With that said, if you haven't violated your terms of service and you really have no idea why your account was closed, then you should not stop until they give you a satisfactory answer. Privacy issues are BS. If your account is associated closely enough to another account for it to be closed because of the other account, then you have a right to know what that account was. You should keep after them until you learn the specific incident that caused your account to be closed. Then you should fight to get back what is rightfully yours. What do you have to lose, except a little time. Follow the advice others have posted about writing to Jeff Bezos and the attorney general and the local news, and keep writing until you get an answer. |

I've already established at least one way the terms were violated - buying items via Prime then reselling them from the connected seller account. Intentional or not, jrw has already verified that this was done. He doesn't seem to think that's the reason, but it happened.

Probably an uneducated opinion, but I really think the op should have access to items he has legitimately paid for or a refund. Just the way I expect thing to work in my world.
Also the concept of innocent until proven guilty in the free world although that seems to be changing in some countries. Helen |

Really convenient that this thread gets posted two days before B&N announces a nook tablet, and suddenly, people are talking about a nook tablet and how this can't happen to them in thread, isn't it?
I'm sorry, this is just all too much. OP , if you're in the right, CC Jeff Bezos, write a registered mail to Amazon CS, and be patient. If you're not, fess up and stop playing these "poor innocent victim games." You've already been caught on a couple of falsehoods. Everybody else? Backup. |
