My Kindle just updated to 3.3

Archived personal documents only show on the Kindle if they were sent to Amazon AFTER you first used the feature (i.e. installed 3.3)

Mine K3 is version 3.2 right. I'm hoping by Christmas we'll also have the library rollout though I'm not holding my breath on that one

There are three versions of the update:

One for ALL Kindle Keyboard (Wi-Fi) models.
One for US/Canadian Kindle Keyboard 3G models
One for European Kindle Keyboard 3G models

Thanks...I checked this; transferred some stuff "after" the update.

Here's what I think is going on: The Personal Documents that are showing up in
"Archived" must be AZW formatted........via "convert" during email, or otherwise.

You see, I use the "Send To Kindle" service a lot, and although these are being archived on the Amazon website, they are NOT showing up in the "Archive" on the Kindle, I think [perhaps] because they are not AZW files?................is this right?

EDIT: On my last test try, it worked; a web page sent to my Kindle via "Send To Kindle", was deleted by me on my Kindle, and it DID show up in the "Archive" folder............................................ .......................................excellent.

I still have 3.2.1 on my K3 but my personal documents show up. However, I also have a K4 so perhaps that is why. Now whether they sync according to advertised specs is another thing as i haven't tried anything but syncing to farthest page read, and that works.

In the archive?

That's one of the new features of 3.3, so I don't see how you can have that with 3.2.1

Personal Documents will show up on the Kindle once emailed to the Kindle address, but they'll only show in the Archive (on the Kindle device) with 3.3 installed.

PDFs sent (without conversion) after I installed the 3.3 update appear in my Archived Items on my Kindle Keyboard.

When you email a document to yourself on the Kindle Amazon converts it to .azw format, you don't need to have it in that format to begin with.

Yeah, I know that, and if you want it converted, you have to put "convert" in the subject line.

By the way, this Personal Documents upgrade via 3.3 is Awesome...so glad I choose the Kindle/Amazon universe.

Okay, I'm not getting this working quite the way I THINK it should. Here is what I'm experiencing.

1. I emailed a personal document to my K4 (FW 4.01) and my K3 (FW 3.2.1 at that time) several days ago.
2. Archiving worked for the K4 but not for the K3 running FW 3.2.1. No surprise there.
3. Upgraded K3 to FW 3.3 this morning.
4. Deleted the personal document mentioned above from K3.
5. Personal document didn't display in Archive.
6. Used the Personal Documents page on Amazon.com to resend personal document to K3.
7. Again deleted the personal document mentioned above from K3.
8. Personal document still doesn't display in Archive.

That is kluge and not good in my opinion. If I have to email a personal document to each device then what is the point? IMO I should only have to email a personal document to one of the qualifying devices and then it should display in the archive for all qualifying devices.

This experience might just be related to the fact that I originally emailed the personal document to the K3 prior to FW 3.3, but resending it should have cleared up any issues.

I suspect the archived items that existed prior to 3.3 for the K-Keyboard will not "Index" for the K-Keyboard, and so they won't show up in archive, after they are deleted. I won't matter if you resend them...!

This is just a transition situation; from now on, it should work. You could always start over...in a sense. That's what I did (I deleted the whole personal docs archive, and started over).

Did you try deleting the personal document from the Amazon "manage my Kindle" page itself and not just the device? Maybe that's the issue.
