Does anyone else see the contradictions here? It's told from the POV of the characters, yet the sentence structure is too simple and *blink* I tell, not show *blink*

Just got done updating my profile, as my daughter is now 12 (as of yesterday) and the work on the barn's going on 8 years now and presently at a stand still. I bought my daughter the "100 Classic Books" for her DS Lite and last night the two of us decided to unwind after her party with our ebook readers before bed. She started reading Alice in Wonderland on her DS and I'm reading the 4th book in the Pendragon series. It was a proud moment for me. I think I was ready to put my reading down before she was. And I remember a time when she wanted nothing to do with reading! She knew how, but had no interest. She was given a party game from her cousins for her birthday. It was hysterical playing it with my family yesterday! It's a word game called "Funglish". Her dad and I all played it again just a bit ago and it was just as fun, even though it was just the 3 of us! I highly recommend it! It was a beautiful weekend! Hard as it's been, we put aside all of our worries and fears and just did a lot of fun things this weekend as a family for Mallory's birthday. I'm feeling so very contented and blessed! (happy sigh ) I just looked back and found her reading again on the DS. She's almost finished with Alice in Wonderland! Life is Gooooood! |

My daughter just finished Alice in Wonderland and has just started Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde! So if you, your child, or anyone else you know has a NDS, I recommend the "100 Classic Books" cartridge. I realize that most, if not all, of these books are public domain and free, but I do believe my $20 for this cartridge was well-spent!

Rebarnmom - woohoo! I remember the 'not interested in reading' jag my son went on. I very carefully didn't panic. He's now into sci fi and fantasy with a vengeance KK - *hugs* |

Thanks for the support! I don't mind negative reviews. I just get irritated (and kinda amused at times) when it's a SILLY review. DEAD(ish) has many flaws, and if people point those out, fine. But (s)he's complaining that I broke Writing for Dummies kinda rules The sort of rules that only newbies stick to slavishly, that is.

(I'm ignoring the contradictions as trying to work out how you would have written Dead(sish) whilst keeping to the rules the reviewer holds dear is making my head hurt)

Well, Anne Boleyn was said to have a pretty neck. But I don't imagine she enjoyed that complement, at the very end. |
