Its a matter of adaption. I believe I may have been a desert dweller in another life.

When you walk outside, the heat literally takes your breath away.

The idea is NOT to walk outside during the hottest parts of the day.

Do the grocery shopping early in the morning. Stay inside, and if you must drive, be sure and take plenty of water with.

Outside, drink lots of water, and take things slow.

Keep the thermostat as high as you can bear, 78 is my limit.

And I'll take my 107 over Arkansas 95 with 90% humidity any day. This way, I don't melt, I just dry up and blow away.........

LOL! I had to mail some envelopes, and decided to walk to the other end of the hospital OUTDOORS to the mailbox. I came back in, smiling, happy to be hot and sunny, and a couple of friends ran up to me and asked why I didn't go via the indoor route? Like I've said before, I LOVE hot and humid.

But it is an orange ozone alert day, and the calls from patients have been coming in all day for asthma meds. The air is sort of gritty and crunchy today.

I hope ours calms down too . There's a lot of rain predicted for tomorrow and I have meetings in several different places in Cardiff. I really don't like the combination of torrential rain plus heat.

oh ugh, that's a terrible combination. if it's any comfort to you, we had torrential rains here with lots of thunder, but now things are all quiet and clear. of course, they are announcing some rain for tomorrow... we'll see... i hope not, because i wanted to go to a concert tomorrow night which will be outdoors, but if it's raining i won't bother. to be honest it might end up for the best if it does, although i would be disappointed, because i have a very full weekend and a big job starting monday, i'd like to be rested for it.

I was going to post the AZ weather today, but it is the same as yesterday when desertGrandma posted our 107degrees. Other tricks to keeping sane in this weather:
* Move quickly from one a/c building to another.
*Lots of sunscreen
*windshield screens for your car
*and remember that you don't have to shovel sunshine. I'll take our 8 mos of summer over anyone's snowy/rainy/sleety/foggy/slushy winter anytime.
