Yup. there may be a way to turn this feature off, but it's on by default as far as I know. Touch item in the list in the Alexa app, then touch the play button (black triangle) to left of where it says "Alexa heard."

And that sounds like a good name for one of those weird Austin, TX bands. I still remember seeing bumper stickers all over town in the mid-1990s with the words Titty Bingo on them, so I ask someone at work what the heck Titty Bingo was. It might have been an interesting game, at least in my mind....Nope, just a weird name for another weird band trying to keep Austin weird.

Thanks, that worked. Wife said "Alexa; add gallon sstt". I still don't know what a gallon sstt is, guess I'll just have to ask Wife.

I asked my daughter today if she wanted to put an app on her iPhone that was super-slow opening on any device on which it's installed just so I could text her straight from my Echo but she wasn't interested.

I use Echo connected to bluetooth with my laptop regularly, but now and then it will not connect to bluetooth. When I say "Alexa, pair with bluetooth" it says "Searching" every time I ask repeatedly. This happened a little while back and now once again it won't pair with bluetooth. Echo is connected to wi-fi and I rebooted by unplugging the Echo and plugging it back in. I also rebooted the laptop.

I have Windows 10/Asus laptop.

Anyone familiar with this problem or know how to solve it?

I just talked to Amazon on the phone and we got it working. However, the app on my laptop doesn't work if it is connected to bluetooth. The rep told me that is how it works (or doesn't, in my opinion).

For now bluetooth is working, until the next time it doesn't, probably in a month or two. I usually get it working by right clicking on the speaker icon and when a box comes up, I click connect (to the Echo speaker). However, that didn't work before I called customer service.

Kind of sucky, in my opinion. They come up with all kinds of new things to do, like placing phone calls, but the basic bluetooth connection gets messed up.

Any thoughts? Does it always work well for you?

Stop telling it to PAIR. You only tell it to PAIR with a device ONCE. From then on, tell it to CONNECT to your laptop. CONNECTING is different than PAIRING.

A while back I tried out Amazon's premium music service, can't remember what they call it, but it would never play right on my Echo. It played well on my iPad and iPhone though. So I thought, well I can just use BT to connect my iPad/iPhone to the Echo and play Amazon's premium music service that way. Nope, it wouldn't work! I can connect via BT and play Pandora, but not Amazon's own music service. WTF Bezos! Hire some programmers who didn't grow up with their mommy doing everything for them, including taking their classes in programming. Find some developers who actually know their butts from a hole in the ground. Geez, what a bunch of Bezos' Bozos. They should all tattoo a large capital "L" on their foreheads. At any rate, you get the picture--BT on Echo is hit and miss. I passed on the Amazon premium music and went with Pandora.

If my Echo and Dot were puppies, I would be standing over them a lot of the time with a rolled up newspaper yelling, "Bad puppy!" I wish we could collectively do that to Bezos and his bozo developers.
