No need.
They are checksumed and the checksum is cryptographically signed by Amazon.

If the signature fails or the checksum fails, the Kindle will not load the update.

For example, the first one:

The Kindle will do that for you.
If it is, you'll see a mysterious error code (06? maybe that is it).

You can also check it with KindleTool.
At least I am pretty sure it tests the signature of the signed packages.

Compare the first six characters of the Kindle's serial number with this statement taken from the first post of this thread:

The G090LK, G090LL (Black and White, PW-3, 32GB, Wifi only) models along with the corresponding two Wifi+3G versions are not supported.

If your device's first six are not those in the above quote, please post the first six characters of the serial number.

Hello sirs,
I jailbroke my PW2 sr no(9701) successfully as per the instructions in this thread. I never missed or did something wrong.
But ;log mrpi command never seems to work. It is said in this thread that my JB Survival Code may have been damaged.
The existing hotfix is seemingly working only till 5.8.2. as seen in that page. Also as NiLuJe mentions the Update Your Kindle is grayed out and package deleted. MrPI destroys this package. Now up on 5.8.9
Please help me regarding this issue.

@s2kaka, that is right, you won't be able to jailbreak with the Software version, it only works for the specific version that these "factory" images were built for, and your Manga Model was not one of those.

Yes knc1,
I took it exactly from the link attached to your post as Jailbreak Survival Code.
But MrPI immediately destroys it. Update your Kindle is strictly grayed out. I have installed MrPI, KUAL through booklet port, and currently running on 5.8.9. I am thinking that hotfix isn't prepared to handle fw 5.8.9

You have a PW-2 and that is in step #6, which according to the directions you where suppose to skip.

I have no way to help a person who did not follow the directions, because I have no way to know just what condition the device is in after not following the directions.

Maybe someone else could help you.

Does the MrPI menu entry in KUAL work?
Which KUAL are you trying to use, the booklet or the azw3 document?
Have you tried the dummy test install package?
With what result?

The KUAL Entry seems to work very well it first says hush little baby and launches the MrPI but the search bar command simply doesnt do anything.
I nevertried that dummy package. For the comfort of editing names for KUAL i chose the Booklet port.Will try soon and report back sir
