Yes, most folks wear rubbah drug store slippahs. I, on the other hand have had my upscale leather slippahs for nearly ten years now, and they're called lethah slippahs.

The first time I ever saw rubbah slippahs was in Navy bootcamp, more years ago than I care to contemplate. We called them "shower shoes", 'cause you were supposed to wear them in the shower to pervent spreading your athlete's foot fungus around.

I have two pairs of Olukai's which are from your islands. Ironically, I didn't see them the 3.5 weeks I was there, but found them on Zappos! I bought the off white ones and loved them so much, that as I was trying them on, I went back online and bought the all black ones.

Now they look wearable. The old cheap flip-flops I used to wear did a number on my feet.

Anyone remember sandals? I don't think I've seen them in a while. They used to be quite popular.

yeah, I have a couple pair of good "Rockport" sandals. shower shoes were what we wore to the showers in Girl Scout Camp and you only ever wore them to the beach other than that. for everything else there were sandals. some time after the Army, where they were at first shower shoes, then flip flops, my daughter started wearing the cheap rubber things, and indeed, between that and Highland Dancing, her arches became badly injured

I buy a good pair of leather sandals every couple of years or so. Usually Earth Shoes brand if I can find them. Just not the style that goes between your toes, LOL. Doesn't matter how well made or how soft that piece is, I just can't stand it.

In my younger days they were popular for both men and women, but it seems like very few men wear them now.

One of those mornings again: only managed a couple of hours sleep, my computer crashed and didn't want to load Windows. I'm now in safe mode making a back-up. Hopefully it will reboot normally after safe mode, it usually does.I suspects yesterday's Windows update is the cause.

If it doesn't want to start I'll give it to my dad for the store since I can't find the Windows discs and he wants to install XP anyway. Saving up for a new PC is priority number one now.

I wear Teva sandals as my everyday summer footwear when I'm not on my bike. I even use them for jungle trekking if I don't have a heavy pack on my back. Perfect for dirt, rock, or river walking! Good support under the foot, and no worries about getting them damaged in harsh conditions.
