We did the Let Freedom Ring Festival yesterday. Parade, carnival & fireworks. Having two festivals in neighboring towns on the same weekend did not fare well for ours, being the smaller town. But I still think that our town's fireworks are awesome for a town its size and we practically had the place to ourselves, like a private showing, as everyone must've been at the Petunia Festival's fireworks!

Thanks for arranging the meet-up! I hope we can do it again soon! And if there are any other MR members in north central IL, Chicago and its burbs, maybe we can do an official MobileRead meet-up!

Ann Martin wrote a series of books called "The Babysitters Club" of which the first was Kristy's Great Idea (which would have worked just as well), but I really meant to refer to the Lippman book.

Discovering that mosquitoes actually make a pleasant(ish) noise when backhanded against a bodhran. However, it was only stunned, and I can hear it whining around again...

It was more a reflex action to get the thing away from me

I don't react well to mossie bites - they come up in very large lumps. But next time I'm aiming for the wall as it's harder...

I've tried with a pistol... wasn't very successful though. Although it did cheat and move just as I squeezed the trigger
