Just FYI, I got error code 2038 when I downloaded two epubs I bought from Harlequin's website today using ADE version 1.7.2 which I still use on my PC. This was the same thing that happened with Google Play's epubs back in May 2015. I have version 2.0.1 on my laptop and so used it to get the two books.

1.7.2 still works with Kobo purchases, so until it no longer does I am sticking with it.

It happens the same with overdrive, although treading still works with 1.7.2. BTW, you need 2.1, not 2.0

Makes sense. IIRC Harlequin uses OverDrive for fulfillment and it appears that ADE 1.7.2 has just stopped working with OverDrive for libraries as well.

FYI, there is no 2.1 the last ADE 2 version is 2.0.1 (2.0.1.78765 to be exact). After that they went to ADE 3 (which is the first version to support the "new" DRM).

If you go to Adobe for downloading it, you have Adobe 3 y Adobe 2.1 (I did it this morning), that's the reason for the label.

You're right about 2.0.1, it's very bad to download a program at 5:30 AM

I checked out a book last week which opened with the older ADE. I guess if 1.7.2 stops working with Kobo I'll have to upgrade on my PC, too.

On the plus side, I've told my nephew I'm keeping my laptop. He's borrowed it quite a lot this past year, but I told him he needed to get his own now because I need it for my books

Maybe I will go ahead and upgrade then. I know when this happened with Google Play some people istalled 2.0.1 and left 1.7.2 on their system and they co-existed. I wonder if that's still the case or if I should uninstall 1.7.2 before installing 2.0.1?

I wish I could remember why I downgraded after 2.0 first came out. Past me should really write things down as present and future me often has memory issues.

I have both. The other day I couldn't get an overdrive book to download on 2.0.1 but it downloaded fine on 1.7.2. It's best to keep the both and use 2 as your main one but keep the other for old books.

Okay I have them both installed on my PC now. Seems to be working okay. I didn't migrate the older books over, but the ACSM files are now associated with 2.0.1.

Same here. I use 1.7.2 because I dislike ADE 2.0 interface.

You can multi select books to delete with ADE2 When I upgraded I deleted all 700 expired library loans in a few batches. I gave up years ago in ADE1.
