Since installing Calibre 8.x the button to the Count Pages plugin disappeared. System still says installed. I deinstalled and reinstalled it, the system says "installed to user interface actions" and still I cannot add a button to the menu.
Any ideas?

I just saw the other thread and will try the downgrading to 8.0.1

Using calibre 8.1.1 go to Preferences > Toolbars & menus. Select The main toolbar and add Count Pages back on the toolbar. That should do it. Otherwise, you'll never be able to upgrade calibre.

Tried that before, but the plugin never showed up. Downgrading worked.

In 8.0.1, remove Count Plugin from the toolbar. Upgrade to 8.1.1 and then add Count Pages back to the toolbar.

Removed it from the toolbar, deinstalled it, updated Calibre, installed it again, added it to the toolbar. Works.

What I do (and I've never had a problem) is I use the Favorites plugin. I can then add all the plugins instead of cluttering the toolbar.

I am not able to change either of the Custom Columns selections. I have restarted Calibre many times and tried it with my Kobo Libra Colour attached and not attached.

I would suspect you don't have the correct type of custom columns configured. Only float and int type columns are offered.
