heheheh

Rooibos Apple Strudel. Not too bad the second time around. Not something I will drink when I can go back to my regular habit but a nice change of pace in the all Rooibos days.

Curious -- what's your source for the book? I've been hoping someone would put up Hemingway's books here on MobileRead (whose servers are in Canada) but haven't seen any of them yet.

I agree -- we do seem to have lost some people.

I've been guilty of just dropping in, reading, and clicking back out without posting lately, but I'm still here, I promise. I'm not very centered these days, for lack of a better word, but I plan to get back in control of my life real soon!

No excuse Betty. All I post is Rooibose Apple Strudle pot 2 and the like. Boring as all hell and gone. The only way it gets interesting is if people post and we can all chat.

Coke in my cup, on ice. And now I feel like I should contribute something additional, but really all I'm doing right now is collecting insurance quotes. One of my least favorite tasks, and boring as hell.

Rooibos and a game of Alpha Prime (which is definitely past its prime - not sure if I'll play it all the way through).

Eating an apples and wistfully thinking ahead to that day in July when I can drink a Hopslam and have a cup or two of tea. (sigh) Poring water right now.

My Hubby is a good man. Bell's Hopslam has once again been released. He got me several six packs that he is holding for me until after the baby comes. I am looking forward to those beers. I know that they will last me a while because one of them is going to be strong enough to get me very drunk after nine months of not drinking.

I know it is silly and that it is the right thing to do but I am getting really sick of Rooibos tea. I am down to two pots a day because I just can't bring myself to make a third pot. I am just bored, bored, bored.

My bigger problem is that I don't like most herbals, they taste watery and just don't pack enough punch.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I am starting to go a bit nuts and my non-caffeinated soda consumption is going up. There is only so much water and Rooibos I can drink and juices are highly caloric.

ProfCrash: You're past the first trimester now, why not relax the restriction a bit and allow yourself a pot of real tea a day. I've not seen any studies that would indicate that is an issue. And your mental health is at LEAST as important to the baby's health as the injestion or not of a small amount of caffeine.

To make it even more fun, let it be a challenge, just like the reading challenge. So, today might be an old favourite brew, but tomorrow try something completely different. Then back to another favourite or two, and then maybe one that is "special" and you've resisted buying because of cost or whatever. Splurge and get it. (For me, that might well be a really special Oolong or even single estate Darjeeling.)

In my cup: Just finishing off my morning Peet's Major Dickason's. Going to try one of my new teas from Tea Spring shortly. Can't wait!

I sometimes drink Green Tea instead of Rooibos, or even less frequently Peppermint, but like you am not a fan of most herbals, which I find insipid.

In my cup: Keemun Xian Zhen (aka: Keemun Immortal Needle) from TeaSpring.com.

This is a lovely Keemun with a strong, earthy bouquet and a smooth, almost sweet earth, flavour. No milk required for this Keemun, but it should be able to stand up to milk, though that's certainly not how I would drink it. Very expensive ($23/50gm), but worth it as a special treat.

Maybe I will bring in some of the tea I have left at home, I gave away most of mine, and make one serving a day. I'll talk to my Doctor about this and make sure it is ok.

try some non-caffeinated chais. I also like teas made with hibiscus. a lot of German Docs actually say a beer a day is ok, and certainly recommend them when breast feeding to increase milk production

Prof Crash -

I have this mental vision of your hubby in the delivery room holding a bottle of Hopslam in front of you whilst yelling "Push" - and the baby shooting across the delivery room into the bassinet as you lunge towards the bottle!

How about some peppermint teas? Or low-cal cranberry drinks?
