FanFicFare uses the date times as given by the sites. Most sites only give dates without times, so TZ differences between site and user are less noticeable. XenForo sites (SB) do give time, so it's also recorded.

I could potentially add a feature for offsetting times, but Python does not do a good job of handling timezones without adding extra libraries. I'll think about it, but unless this is a problem for lots of people, it's not very likely.

Couldn't you just use/create the column for the created date on your computer? As far as I know it should be the same timezone as your computer.

You can choose Default Background Metadata option under the basic tab in configuration, unless you mean something else.

I already have that, but it only works when I update. It would be nice to have it as well when I download new stories.

FFF cannot do the initial metadata lookups for new stories/URLs in the background because it needs to be able to interact with you in some cases.

Afternoon Jimm, noticed a bit of a oddity with the newest version (i'm not using the test just the version from calibre.

the following lines are in my personal.INI, however on adding a new story to my library, the only one which is appearing is the "new" in tags.

custom_columns_settings:
"Med"=>#readpriority,n
"New"=>tags,a
freefromtags=>#keywords,a

The last time i did a import of a new fic was back in october last year, and they definatly worked then.

Thanks so much for developing and maintaining FanFicFare!

I wanted to report what I suspect is a bug. I'm running the latest stable versions of Calibre (2.79.0) and the FanFicFare Calibre plugin (2.8.0), and when I try to download a story from anime2.adult-fanfiction.org get the following error:

Status: Bad
Title: Unknown
Author: Unknown
Comment: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'findAll'
URL: http://anime2.adult-fanfiction.org/s...p?no=600023383

Not sure if it matters, but since that looks like a Python error message, perhaps I should mention that I'm running Windows and have Python 3.6 installed.

Please let me know if I can provide any more information that would be useful to you.

Ummm... That's puzzling. The "Med" and freefromtags lines work fine for me. If they don't work now, I would suspect you have another conflicting custom_columns_settings set in another section or something. Or the column #names don't match anymore.

The tags line never worked. custom_columns_settings only sets custom columns--it's right in the name. If you're getting 'new' in Tags, it's coming from somewhere else.

I'd need to see your full personal.ini to give anymore help. There's a button for getting a 'safe' version with user/pass obscured. Also, when posting ini code, use [code] tags and if it's large, [spoiler] tags around that.

Ahhh, i wasnt aware that having custom columns under individual sites was a override! that'll be whats doing it then as i have custom column settings under AO3 to populate the Kudos column. Thanks for the help.

You can use add_to_custom_columns_settings to... add to the settings. See the add_to documentation.

Short version: is there a way to use something similar to `add_to_keep_html_attrs:,style' to download underlines without downloading other formatting such as size/font changes?

I have a minor problem. Since I want underlines with FFF when downloading from FFnet, I use the following lines in personal.ini

add_to_keep_html_attrs:,style

This works out fine, except when it downloads other formatting, such as text size, font, or colour changes, which annoy me when reading them by e-book. And yes, I am aware that fics published these days don't have that stuff due to FFnet's draconian polices, but old fics, such as https://www.fanfiction.net/s/4246/1/ and https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10700/1/ do. Is there a way to download the underlines without all the other additional formatting that comes with `style' ?
