For the past several days the forecasters have been warning us of a substantial snow event for Wednesday night into Thursday. Starting yesterday they changed their forecasts, promising that the storm would swing to the south and probably miss us entirely. Take care, guys!

Yeah - it headed here - looks like 4-5" piled up yesterday - huge amount for this area - below freezing temps will keep it around a while ... sigh

I don't live too far from that horrible accident at the 40/85 merger where a tractor trailer jack knifed and closed the whole interstate. WRAL said there were more than 1000 wrecks yesterday and 4 over the span of nine minutes this morning.

Luckily for me and my staff, court cancelled in almost all of our jurisdictions so we're all snugly working from home.

Up until Wednesday we had temperatures of around 3℃, with a very cold wind. Today the temperature will rise to 16℃. The drawback is that when it was cold it was at least sunny. This morning is a bit cloudy, but the sun should come out later, but from tomorrow it'll be back to rainy and cloudy, albeit warm, weather.

We've had a dry but gray morning. This afternoon it's showery. We just had a hail shower for a solid 15 minutes, usually they don't last longer than a couple of minutes. Luckily it was tiny hail, so no damages. Until 5pm some short showers are predicted, followed by a longer period of rain.

It 6℃ to 8℃, depending if it's raining or not. From tomorrow we're getting dry and sunnier weather for a while.

We've had rain, heavy at times, and very strong winds all day. They're only now beginning to ease up, but the dense clouds are still hanging around. The high temperature for the day was 61°F.
