Mine finally is out of residency and has a permanent job, new house, and girlfriend. So, I'm having to get use to occasional contact now. I think it is a bit harder for me than for him.

Now, well, I finally have a day to do yard work and it is completely soggy outside.

It's a sure thing, Tom. The rats have been scoring higher than human students in math and English for the 15th year in a row. The roaches are out as they have ADD.
I still have high hopes for a good showing by the reptiles.

The reptile's ship has sailed, I'm afraid. Really. Last weekend there was this boatload of velociraptors on the lake that was just annoying the way they would heave to and board other boats and then consume the occupants. Good thing we had sunk by then and were swimming to shore. They don't like getting their sunblock washed off.

Cockroaches will probably be the last folks standing; but at present, if the snake population is really declining as rapidly as a new report shows (and I heard an independent soon-to-be published study of snakes in the U.S. mirrors the recent report of rapidly declining European, African, and Australian populations since 1998), the rats may have a head start.

The researchers don't have an answer for what's happening to the serpents, but it's been postulated that global warming is to blame. These cold-bloodied reptiles have been around for millions of years, and have survived many changes in climate, but perhaps none so rapid and drastic as what we're currently experiencing.

And of course, less snakes means more rats, and more rats means more disease. Let's not forget how a rat-borne plague once destroyed a large segment of the European population.

I'm really stunned by the snake decline. I had heard that there had been an upsurge of exotics in the Everglades. How are the Komodo dragons doing?

I saw that MythBusters episode. Very interesting.

But the rats have the strongest lead.
It's rat DNA they use in human fertility treatments.

Hmmm. I never noticed that. They must be air-brushing some of the trade-rags that have her pic. She looks normal ... mostly.

Except for the 8 kids.

The fact that she could have 8 kids at once is just freaking scary.
