After a couple of sunny autumn days we're in for a couple of grey days. It'll be 10-11℃, so not too cold. Mornings will be misty. But by the weekend the sun should start showing itself more.
So far we haven't turned the heating on permanently, just a handful of times in the evening when it was cooler. |

The weather today is very bad. It's currently raining and snowing, 2℃ and windy. A good day to get the chores over quickly and then curl up on the sofa with a book (or cross stitch project) and a cup of tea.
Tomorrow it's going to be better, sunny and a couple of degrees warmer. Which is great because I'm off to Rotterdam to visit a museum and do some shopping. |

A rather damp and cold day for a walk but at least the wind and rain have stopped.

It's supposed to be dry and sunny today. So far (8.45am) it's neither. It's grey and snowing. Granted, it isn't as dark grey as yesterday and there were clear patches a little while ago. It's only 1℃, though it should warm up to 5℃ later today. The weather services are still predicting sunny spells for this afternoon.
For Sunday and Monday temperatures of 15℃ are predicted, before it get colder again. |

The high temperature was 38°F with rain and sleet all day. There was a light coating of ice crystals and slush on the car, but the roads were just wet and slick. It never fell below freezing here, and the ground is still too warm -- it was only a couple of weeks ago that we were in the 80s. I suppose there may be some ice on bridges and overpasses, but I'm in for the evening. The overnight temperature is only supposed to fall to 33° so there shouldn't be any large scale icing out there.
Just north of us they got a few inches of snow, and at High Point, NJ, (about 1.5 hours away, to the northwest) they got 20 inches. That would be an unwelcome surprise after our late season summer conditions. On the other hand, we've gone more than a month without any measurable rain and we've started seeing some forest fires, so a good cover of snow is helpful. After four days of temperatures around 3℃ (Tuesday to Friday) it was 17℃ on Sunday and very windy. Now (just after midnight) it's still very windy, so I've already got my earplug at the ready because I always have difficulty sleeping when it's windy (not sure why). It'll be a little bit colder today and rainy most of the morning and afternoon.
