Watched Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe, being English any Robin Hood film/ story always strikes a cord, but I think this version closely followed by Kevin Costners version are the best for me,
"Rise and rise again, until Lambs become Lions" (Perhaps quite apt for the UK at the moment vis-a-vis digital ID )

We started watching The House of Guinness on Netflix last night. We watched two of the eight episodes and are enjoying it. It by the same people behind Peaky Blinders (which I still have to watch).

For some reason, and I have no idea why, I thought the Errol Flynn version was a tv series and not a movie??? is that totally wrong? |

Considering that version of Robin Hood was released in 1938 slightly before commercial television broadcasting started in 1941 (correct me if I am wrong since I'm pulling the start of commercial TV broadcasts in North America from memory of a David Sarnoff of RCA fame biography).

I'm currently watching Episode 3, Season 20 of Taskmaster. Broadcast on Channel 4 but also available on YouTube.
A Master of Ceremonies sets tasks for a group of comedians and then points are awarded based on how well he thinks they've completed the assignment. |

Watched S1 of Murder in a Small Town, not too bad for American TV.
Better late than never, watched the 3 seasons of the Swedish Wallander, kind of a must-watch for noir fans. Now reading Mankell's books which are also good. Camilla Lackberg's 2 TV series were also good, better than books IMO. And for something different, just finished the offbeat Netherlands series Anonymouus. With Hitch apparently gone I'm not sure if anyone else is interested in foreign TV? |

Whilst trying to cope with a stubborn vicious respiratory viral bug that shot my temp into triple digits, I binged Invasion - a series I totally missed when it was first aired - and it was just what I needed to get through the day - could have done with a lot less flashing/strobing lights but I cheered on the aliens (were they meant to be so non-threatening?) - sort of Borg collective crossed with Alien ... on to season 2!

I just finished the second season of The Traitors UK, very good. For next week's vacation I've got a bunch of things I can watch on my list; The Hack, Wayward, Alien: Earth, and more. I'll just have to see what I'm in the mood for at that time. |

I'm on vacation and the weather is very grey, so I'm mostly staying in and reading, cross stitching and watching tv. Yesterday I started with catching up with Criminal Minds, I have two seasons to watch. I like they changed the format to 10 episodes per season with one major story line.
I've also watched the first episode of Wayward on Netflix, I'm not sure what to think about it yet. Tonight The Traitor Celebrity will start on the BBC. Usually I'm not into celebrity versions of programs, but one of the participants is Stephen Fry. So if I remember I might watch it tonight. I'm trying to decide what movies to watch. Traditionally I watch (crappy) horror movies on vacation (and proceed to freak myself out), but I can't find anything I'm in the mood for. |

In the last couple of days I've watched a bunch of TV:
True Haunting (Netflix): a fun series, 5 episodes of about 30 minutes, so it's easy to finish in one sitting. Wayward (Netflix): meh, I was doing other things while I had it on, it couldn't hold my interest very much. I guessed the twist midway through the series. Lovely, Dark, and Deep: an interesting concept, but the execution was lacking. Jane Eyre (tv series, 2006): I watched the first two episodes last night. They rush through Jane's youth so they can get to the more romantic part, which annoyed me. I'm not sure if I'll finish it, but there's a high chance of a reread soon. Not sure what I'm going to watch today yet, maybe some documentaries. |

One TV series I did catch up on is Doc season 1. I'll get into season 2 soon enough. I found Doc to be very good. It's based on a true story.
I'm also watching Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent. |
