I ordered mine on July 30 and it still says it's shipping separately, can cancel at any time, etc. Credit card got billed for the cover, though.

I ordered the WiFi version and the lighted cover mid-day July 29, and both Kindle and cover show "Shipping Soon" and "This portion of your order is being prepared for shipment and cannot be canceled or changed." Delivery estimage on the cover is August 31 and the Kindle information still says I'll be notified via email when there is an estimated delivery date.

Cover is now 'Dispatching Soon'
Kindle is still 'Not Yet Dispatched'

I hope it changes soon! I don't think reading just the cover will be much fun.

Alas, I ordered mine on Aug 7th (though it was in my shopping cart on July 28th). I guess I won't have a status change until next week... which is good since I'll be out of town until the 31st. I won't have to worry about it sitting in front of my door for days.

I got an e-mail from UK saying they shipped my lighted cover, but the status for the K3 from the US is still Yet to be Shipped. Arghh!

My cover changed to shipping soon!! Still says delivery estimate of the 31st, but I would expect to see it by the end of the week if it ships soon. I agree ksimm, reading just the cover will be NO fun - so I hope the Kindle ships soon too!
