I have been looking for one for a very long time. But not been able to get it as I live in India, and it is not available here.
My uncle will go to Montreal next week. I have asked him to look for it there.
If someone can guide me, Please.. I would really appriciate it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi sabul,

Historically the Sony Readers have not been available in the Province of Québec. One of our members, Yvan, has recently seen advertisements for the PRS-505 and PRS-700 and has posed a question to other members as to the availability of Sony Readers in his province.

Yvans thread is here: --> Sony in Québec legally?

I really hope your Uncle will be able to get you a reader.

sorry for giving you misinformation before. had no idea about quebec not selling sony readers.
Another option might be to order online from borders. I'm not sure if they ship to India but I remember someone else looking to get the reader in Germany and after checking said that borders do ship there.
good luck

Don't give up hope yet. The French version of the press release did say that it would be available across Canada. There is a contact email for a public relations representative on the Sony Press Release. I can't use email from my present location, but if someone could find out which models, if any, are available in Québec, and where, it would be great to know.

(This is the weekend though, so I'm not sure if there'll be a quick response)

Best of luck, WDE.

After looking at them side-by-side (see the video I just uploaded) I am returning the PRS-600. I really wanted to like it, but there is too much a compromise on the screen to get the other benefits of the PRS-600.

Doodlydood - I'm new to the whole "discussion forum" thing. Sorry.

How do I access the video you uploaded?

Doodlydood, thank you so much for the reviews and videos. I am somewhat disappointed that the clarity is not as nice as on the 505. But, although, I do of course prefer the 505's clarity, I have really wanted a dictionary for a long time and I like the new ability to add annotations. So, since I have been able to put up with the 700 and enjoying my books on it, I will probably find the 600 acceptable if not ideal. I have preordered a red one from Borders whicl will be here on the 30th. I am really kind of anxious to get it. If they offer a firmware upgrade in the future which offers handwriting recognition and a dictionary, I will probably then go with my 700. If the clarity is about the same, might as well. I am one of those few who actully likes the embedded side lights. Even though I don't appreciate the glare too much. But, there will always be trade offs I presume.

What do you think about the screen quality of PRS-600

http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/24/v...tisfy-prs-505/

it seems that is exactly like for PRDS-700, I am also disappointed.... because...I was trying to convince myself that the best reader for me is PRS-600

You're welcome. There are several stores in Metro Vancouver, I've highlighted the ones that are downtown or the one closest to the airport is RICHMOND CENTRE.

(Burnaby) - METROPOLIS at METROTOWN
(Coquitlam) - COQUITLAM CENTRE
(Richmond) - RICHMOND CENTRE
(Surrey) - GRANDVIEW CORNERS
(West Vancouver) - PARK ROYAL SHOPPING CENTRE
(Vancouver) - PACIFIC CENTRE
(Vancouver) - 1128 WEST BROADWAY
(Vancouver) - 929 GRANVILLE STREET

The contrast seems to be similar to the Kindle.

I ended up buying the 505... first time I do not buy the latest technology gadget available. The clarity of the 505 when compared to the 700 (and reading the comments of the 600 being the same screen as the 700) was what made me go with the 505.

My wife likes this new toy... so maybe later on we explore buying one for her (or I just give her mine and see what is available at the time ).

As soon as the 600 are out I will stop by the local store to take a look... but I am very please with how sharp, clear, and easy on the eyes the PRS505 is
