Wow it looks gorgeous, kind of like something Apple would design. Is it brushed metal or just silver plastic?

I can see the 600 as a $299 replacement of and improvement on both the 505 and the 700. This offers a head to head competitor for the Kindle, giving the user a choice between the Kindle's whispernet or the 600's touchscreen. Then maybe there's the 900, at $399. The 900 might compete with the KDX in terms of screen space, but have a smaller overall form factor, with a touchscreen and possibly wireless connection to the computer. Plus an improved screen all the way around, and some new software providing for things like choice of font style. And just possibly, an expanded bookstore alliance. |

I just hope my 'vision' of what Sony can do, turns to reality. And, while wifi can be a bonus, for me it is not at all a necessity. |

Basically I 'need' a PRS-700 with the screen of my 505. I do most of my reading in poor light so a back/front light is essential and as a law student not being able to search and annotate on my 505 is killing me. To be honest nothing here, even the 600, really interests me that much simply as there is no lighting. I may change my mind if the 600 is a really good price and selling my 505 can get me close to the 600's buy in price. I hope they have kept the metal construction as for me its a major deal on my 505. It just feels so solid and professional. It breeds confidence in the product. Plastic would be a major turnoff.
Come on Sony, just make a 700 without a crappy screen, please please pretty please. |

Hello!!
anyone knows from those rumors and news-from-outside if Sony will make a device around A4 format?... Because to read technical books in PDF (possibly with reflowing) an A4 dimension would be well readable I'm sure...so at least I'd like to know specifications will have that device... Ciao! Luigi |

Btwn my 505 and my 700 the 700 feels like it has a plastic case. I love the feel of my 505 which is clearly an aluminum but even though the 700 feels solid, it still doesn't feel quite as good as my 505.

yep, the 600 looks almost exactly like the 700. the form factor is a bit different though. but the button placement looks the same.
which honestly is great. there is nothing wrong with the 700s button placement. and the 300 just looks stupid. I hope that's not the final design. the bezel is way to damn big. they should pack it nice an small. |

Yes, I wondered about that... Why make a 5" screen if you make the device almost as large as one with a 6" screen? |

As such I invariably triple your lower estimate over the course of a year. And even then I only every have 10-20 books on my 505 at a time. |
