I'd like to win...

'cause a new, shiny, e-reader would go nicely with the server system we are building/donating to a school and its library. We were reviewing the various services we would create for the school and the library would love to show the ability for students to use ebooks (as they have some study material in electronic format) but they don't have the budget for ebook readers.
If we could show the potential, even with one, we might be able to raise enough money for several library ebooks.

Count me in!

Although I've been happily reading ebooks on my Palm OS PDAs, and now my iPhone, I think I finally need a dedicated ereading device. Since I switched to the iPhone, with its cooler camera and other fun applications, my toddler is obsessed with it. She makes it impossible to read on it, even surreptitiously.

And since I'm now home on maternity leave with a 3 week old, I actually have (snippets of) time to read.

So I'd love to win an eReader, particularly one that looks boring to a toddler and that I can use one-handed while I feed the new little guy. eBooks are great for keeping me awake during night feedings.

I want an e-book reader because I'm a poor school-boy without money.

Please enter me in the give-away!
I would love to win a new ereading device! Not for myself, but for my youngest sister (only 40 years-old), who has some sort of eye disorder * (I'm a bad sister for not remembering what it is called.) But she can no longer drive at night, and has to wear some really funky looking glasses to drive in the daytime, and when I first showed her my Sony-700, she told me that she had all but given up on reading because it was too hard to read the print. And she's as big of a reader as I am (a love instilled my our mom's love of reading)! I can't imagine not being able to read. It would just be something I would love to be able to give her!

* It's dystrophy of the retina, sometimes called a pattern dystrophy.

I didn't intend to enter this give-away. I have a Kindle and I thought it would be better if someone who doesn't have any reader at all could win.
Then I thought it would be great if I won, I could give it to my Mother-in-Law who loves to read but really can't afford to buy a lot of books anymore.
So please enter me into the give-away also.

Please enter me in the draw for an e-book reader. I have been creating e-books since 1994, beginning with works by Leo Tolstoy. The first works I digitized were in .txt format, but I have since moved on to where I now create epub books. In fact, as soon as I finish this reply, I will be heading over to the section where members can post e-books and putting up a copy of a haunted house story called Dare's Gift by Ellen Glasgow.

Why should I win? Because I have been working to further the distribution of e-books for so long, believe so strongly that e-books are the future of libraries, and because I will continue to promote e-books for as long as I live.

Oooh Oooh Pick Me, Pick Me, Mr Kot-ter!

I totally want to enter this contest. (and thank you for offering it.)

Why me?

First and foremost, so I am forced to make a decision already. Who knows when I'll ever finally make up my mind otherwise. And by the way, this site has been spectacularly helpful, and addicting, in that regards.
Secondly, better anyone else's money spent than mine.
Finally, I'll be so happy that I'll end my H1N1 pandemic and release the cure I'd been reserving for my chosen followers.

You have been warned...

Sure...why not, I'll enter too...

"....certainly the game is rigged if ya don't bet you can't win..."

Trying out a Sony 700 might work for reading at night...or...maybe even a 3Qi display based device if they are out then. Would make for a fun review on top of it all.

I want to win so I can give it away as a birthday present to my youngest sister who is 15 years old. She was just away with her classmates on a school trip and came home with around 20 books (reason there was a sale 3 books for 2). Would be easier if she had an ebook-reader. And because of her eyes she gets headaches from reading to long from the cmputer screen

I would like to enter the contest aswell.
I would like to win a BeBook, because it's very hard to read on my Cybook at the moment because my girlfriend uses it all the time
Having a second reader would be great - the BeBook because I would go for OpenInkpot - a lot of testing and feedback guaranteed

Thanks for the chance and thanks for having this contest!

Red face Airline Turbulence and the Ebook Reader

I am so happy to have found this contest.

WHY SHOULD I WIN ?- I am an advocate of reading in all forms -I am always telling people at work that a book particularly fiction can take you where no TV show or movie can because you can sometimes see the characters and the plot better through the thought processes of your own mind. Now I can be an advocate of the portability and easy access of reading through an ebook reader.

LET me tell you when I first knew I wanted one.

Two weekends ago I found myself unfortunately on one of those small twin engine planes operating between Toronto airport and Bradley Airport near Hartford Connecticut the closest airport to my home in Massachusetts. The ride was bouncy and turbulent to say the least but I noticed that it did not seem to affect the passenger across the aisle from me. This man had the Sony reader and never took his eyes off the device for the entire journey. I watched in fascination as he advanced every page of the book he was reading by pressing a button and his eyes never left the device for the entire 1.5 hour trip. Must be a comfortable read I thought.
Though I loved looking at the Sony reader- I hope I can win the Kindle 2 because it has the speaker built in it. To be honest either would be great to win.

Thank you for allowing me to enter this contest

I want to enter the giveaway. I'd like a Kindle 2 to give to my mother-in-law. Her sight has been getting worse due to Macular Degeneration and the TTS would allow her to 'read' once again. She doesn't have a computer and doesn't drive anymore, at 92, so the whispernet access would be essential to her receiving any books (she lives in SD, us in TN, so it's a minimum two-day drive or all day flights to get up to see her).
