No it is not empty. At least not in your previous post. sudo ls -l /var/spool/cron/crontabs shows 1 file named huber70 with a file size of 1222 bytes. -rw------- 1 huber70 crontab 1222 7. Mär 17:18 huber70 if you type sudo cat /var/spool/cron/crontabs/huber70 then you can see what is inside the file huber70 The colour RED is only used here for clarity, no other meaning ![]() |

Well, you are right, using the command sudo ls -l /var/spool/cron/crontabs it really shows the file with size 1222 and yes: when I type "sudo cat /var....." I see the content but why is the folders properties "crontabs" is said to be empty? |

Security. Remember, RaspberryOS is Linux = UNIX and can be used with multiple users, each with their own permissions. Only users with certain permissions on the OS should be able to directly access certain files. User huber70 should not, but still can when using command sudo. |

ok, and why not give me a general permission (and how?) would make things easier as I am used to write even hidden files within Windows since more than 30 years (see my age! ![]() |

RaspberryOS is not Windows. But it’s your Pi. Easiest for now is: su - then your are root. You need to do that every time you login on the terminal. Remember, if you break it, you start over from the beginning. ;-) |

thanks for the warning, appreciate it! i am able to type su - but no chance to write my password PS: Read, that entering the password is not visible and that "return" will lead to the result but doesn't Last edited by huber70; 03-08-2023 at 05:35 AM. |

Success! - It worked now for the first night. PC and PI have been under power, at 01:38am the IP changed and at 3:40am I still could enter the page (after setting access data). Be very happy now - thank you very much to be so patient with me |

OK!! Now your PC can sleep at night ![]() Instead of su - you can try sudo /bin/bash to become root. |

totally devastated after a big mistake I've done.. After nearly one month without any problems I yesterday made an update from calibre-web vs 06.19 to 06.20 though I have been warned by "!Attention! For this update flask-limiter has to be installed !Attention!" The result is that I cannot reach my xxxfreemyip.com address anymore. ok - thought that uninstall of 06.20 and new installation of 06.19 would solve the problem, but doesn't. Fortunately I have a complete copy of the 06.19 folder inclusive the app.db. After re-installation I overwrote these new files with the saved files - the only success is the calibre-web interface of the localhost:8083 at the PC xxxfreemyip.com address does not appear, neither at the PC nor at the Raspberry. The token ist still ok and - of course - no changes at the Fritzbox router have been made What have I to do now? |

1 - you updated calibre-web on you Pi? How? I thought you used Docker? 2 - xxx.freemyip.com still points at your external (WAN) IP-address? What is the error if you try to connect over the www? |

when you go into settings at calibre-web interface at the bottom you will see the vs 06.19 and the text "search for updates"... and 06.20 will appear with the version history etc I solved the problem, fortunately, as i have a complete backup of my PI stick on a micro sd card. So I changed my stick versus sd card and I am back on the sunny side of the street |

Great!!! I thought you are running calibre-web inside of a Docker container? It is usually NOT possible to update an app inside a container. |
